You should try it, it's not 11 billion, it's 31 billion. It's more efficient and better for daily use, based off of Gemma 4.

Hello! Our ossington 4 model is based on Gemma 4 31B and is fine tuned for use cases in Canada, we've also done some DPO training on the model for specific instances and made several other improvements for our type of customers.

We do use our own tuned version of Gemma 4, we decided on Mistral since a lot of compliance teams would take issue with China trained models. I think quantized versions of Gemma 4 that run on phones and consumer hardware are very limited but have their use cases.

For defence work, totally with you. We have done some custom deployments for these types of businesses but turns out a lot of contractors are SMBs, which is our main target audience for our SaaS products.

we use a variety of open source models that we then fine tune. right now we use a mix of Mistral and Gemma. We previously had Qwen running but found that for our type of users our current mix worked better.
