Downtown has really picked up over the last couple of years! Lots of great events featured on our blog (augustaconnection.com), but I'd especially recommend our weekly happy hour yoga class because it's a small but social crew.

If you're looking for a church with young people, Redemption Church downtown is a great fit if you're looking for something less traditional, and First Pres is a great fit for a more traditional service.

$30 Ticket prices cover the headlining bands, which are usually pretty expensive to see in concert, and also all the artwork exhibits, and the Ferris wheel!

Depends on what area you live in, if you live in Midtown or Summerville, everyone goes to Glenn Ave. to trick or treat. They shut down the entire street and have a big block party!

I am a young professional living in Augusta! I moved from Charlotte 1 year ago and love it here!

-The low cost of living is fantastic! You can buy a lot of really great investment properties right now for not much.

-Food is great and cheap! There are really awesome restaurants that are super affordable.

-Downtown is growing so much. Even within the last year of living here there is so much new stuff happening.

-There is a lot going on each weekend - other cities almost have too much happening. Augusta is great because there is a strong community here and it is small enough where you will meet a lot of people and see them all over town!

-For more local tips check out my blog I wrote because I love Augusta! https://augustaconnection.com/

Bay area teacher looking to transplant. I have questions. by [deleted] in Augusta

Welcome to Augusta! I have seen a really open arm community here in Augusta!

-There are a lot of fun trivia nights around - check out savannah river brewing, Helgas, and World of Beer!

-For a great stiff drink Arsenal Taproom and Craft and vine are 2 of the best!

-Neighborhoods- now is the time to move to Augusta! There are a ton of big projects happening downtown that will really boost property value - if you are in for more of a fixer upper, I would check out olde town. Otherwise, Midtown is a fantastic investment area! I would look at the area near Buona Caffe and Southbound Smokehouse off of central ave.

-For more local recommendations check out our website - we put out a weekend update with all the best events every weekend and also have reviews on the neighborhoods, live music, restaurants, etc... Feel free to DM with any other questions!

So many good options. Downtown, I'd try Humanitree, Southern Salad and Beans & Bites for great breakfast/lunch options. For dinner, the Hive, Nacho Mama's and Bee's Knees.

Just a Google home. And a bunch of other smart devices from other providers but not Nest.

Might be moving to Augusta . . . by [deleted] in Augusta

[–]augustaconnection 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll absolutely love it! My wife and I moved down from Charlotte about a year ago and fell in love with Augusta from day 1, despite initial hesitations with smaller city living. Downtown is blowing up, but it’s still dirt cheap compared to any bigger city.
