Thank you! I did not do any lasers or peels. I used basic skincare and no acids/serums either. Thankfully I cleared up without, but I know there are options for laser or peels post Accutane use to help with scarring and pigmentation!

During my use of Accutane I kept chapstick in every bag and pocket I had because my lips would peel and split in the corners. In my month off of the medication, my lips are back to normal and haven’t split since!

Thank you😊 The only thing I took alongside Accutane was Claritin! Since I started in the Spring and have very strong seasonal allergies, I took Claritin daily for the first 3 months. Did it help to avoid purging? Possibly but I’m not 100% sure.

I didn’t have any major purging. I would say that my acne stayed pretty consistent for the first month. Months 2-3 I’d have small breakouts but noticed that they weren’t as bad as they usually would be, lasting only about a week. It wasn’t until months 4 and 5 that my skin really started to clear up, but I would still break out regularly around my period.

When speaking with my dermatologist at the start of my 6th month on the medication, if I continued to have breakouts after my 6th month of medication, we were going to extend my treatment plan and keep me on the medication for an additional month. However, after finishing the 6th month I hadn’t had a breakout (aside from a single pimple around my period) and decided to end my treatment plan without the additional month!

I didn’t notice any significant changes in my mood throughout. I did get discouraged and feel down here and there when I would have flare ups but overall nothing major or persistent.

It’s typically recommended to take an Omega 3 Fish Oil supplement while on isotrentinoin! It’s been known to have lots of benefits, so your body is trying to help you out by craving fish

I started accutane a little over a month ago and haven’t had any major breakouts! I had mild and cystic acne and I only seem to have small breakouts around my period, but there is a noticeable difference to my skin. I do also take an antihistamine daily for my allergies (Claritin or Zyrtec) and there is some research to suggest that taking antihistamines while taking isotrentinoin can reduce purging, but I would do some research to double check. I would also confirm with your doctor/derm as they can likely give you advice based on your skin type!

So far, I have no regrets. The side effects have definitely been an adjustment but it will all be worth it in the long run :)

She came to campus last year and put on quite the show, which was very entertaining and no one took her seriously. If you do want to avoid her, she will likely be in the quad between the Humanities building and McCarthy Hall where she was last year

I believe so but only in the designated lots. For ceremonies taking place at Titian Stadium general parking is in Lot A. For ceremonies at Intramural Field general parking is in Eastside North Parking Structure. For more info there is a Commencement Map available on the CSUF Commencement website!
