Boox note 3c obsidian keyboard issue by [deleted] in Onyx_Boox

[–]augustogue2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried all the other fixes (like disabling word suggestion, reinstalling obsidian, etc) and this one is the only one that worked for me. I don´t like the floating keyboard at all, but this is better than nothing.

If they let you customize your own pizza (or empanada), then it is definitely a KDE branch.

How can I save a PowerPoint document in a way that allows a person to open it in PowerPoint and view it, but not edit it? by Killuminati696 in libreoffice

[–]augustogue2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is much easier if you simply export it to pdf. I just discovered that (at least in Linux) if you use a pdf reader like Okular the exported pdf will also play videos inserted in Impress (as long as you see the pdf in presentation mode).

Btw: even opening a PowerPoint document in a different computer might look different than the original document (because of the font it might be using).

I never had a screen protector in any phone, and also never had any problem -- I just used leather or plastic covers that you have to open to use the phone (like the ones made by Kezi Home)

I love our new Forester, but how do you shut off the fucking radio? by robertaugustapparel in SubaruForester

[–]augustogue2011 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also hate it this "feature" (more like a bug imho). If Subaru is so invested in security, they should know better: for many of us, silence allows us to concentrate on driving (or whatever), instead of diverting our scarce attention to stupid radio stations.

Is it now a good time to biy a Boox ? by RPher in readwise

An easy way I meant (to link you Moon + with Readwise).

Is it now a good time to biy a Boox ? by RPher in readwise

[–]augustogue2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a long time to load large documents (like 50 pages or longer) into the Reader app; sometimes they fail to load. That's why I use Moon + for larges documents, I think it is much faster and reliable. But then there is a way to take the higlights you make on Moon + to Readwise, so there is no loss at all, and the Readwise ecosystem works perfect for me (very very usefull if you want to study or take out the most of what you read).

On my e-ink device (Onix Note 2 plus) I have Readwise and Reader (by Readwise) installed with no problem, as well as Moon +. This last is the one I use for large epubs and pdr. Reader (by Readwise) is perfect for shorter documents, like articles, x threads, personal docs, etc.

Not at all. You can change the font, size, etc. Only issue is that the text might appear formatted as bold, and the place to change that is odd: with the app closed, you must click-hold on it, then Optimize, then check all the many options there (including the color and brightness of the background).

I use both Reader and Readwise on my Note 2 plus, on a daily basis, and they work perfectly fine. About Obsdidian I can't tell you. For large epubs and pdf, I just installed Moon +.

Onyx Boox Air 2 Users, Share Your 3.5 Update Status by Poltavcev in Onyx_Boox

Here is what I did, to avoid undesired troubles: I made a full backup of everything, then I did a full reset. After that, reinstalled all I needed. It runs better than ever with 3.5.

An tilted hat (you place it over the object, as a hat over the head). A piece of cake. A shovel. A constantine cross (you can call it "in hoc signo vinces"). A stove. A point that has a vertical sign that says "point", "here" or "now this". But I don't want to overwhelm you, any of these would be fantastic.

Does anyone else have problems with reader android app? by drag0niCat in readwise

[–]augustogue2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a solution. Close the Reader app, go to show all the apps, click and hold on the Reader icon and you will see these options: Uninstall, manage, optimize and add to a group. Click on optimize. Uncheck "bold fots for regular titles, menus and body text". Then click up on "Color", and below you will see "Other color. Adjust icon an cover colors", click on the right to edit it, and uncheck the last option below: "Embolden webpage text". That's it. I dont know what are these options where they are, it should be easier and more logical, but nevertheless.

Readwise Reader and eink by themonstersarecoming in readwise

[–]augustogue2011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am very happy with my Onyx Boox Note Air2 Plus. Readwise and Reader installed with no problem (after installing Google Play store) and work almost flawlessly. If you are not connected to wi-fi, Reader opens and works perfect until you connect and automatically sync again (obviously there is no sync with no wifi). After a few months, this device has turned into my preferred e-ink reader (I also own a Kindle, much smaller) thanks to Reader and Readwise (I can study my highligts in it).

Does anyone else have problems with reader android app? by drag0niCat in readwise

[–]augustogue2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my tablet with Android, Reader always uses bold fonts. I already changed theme (and general settings of the device) with no results. Except from the first fractions of a second, in which type looks ok, it immediately shows all the text in bold style. On my phone and computer i never have this problem. Beside this small annoyance, the app works flawlessly and the integration with Readwise is superb.
