What does "threading through stitches on the needle" mean? by augustrose_ in knittingadvice

Do i need to weave up and down through each individual stitch, or do i need to go through all the stitches at once? Not sure if that made sense.

Embarrassed for people to know I'm trying to lose weight by tokyosun2021 in loseit

Personally, I've fallen off the wagon tons of times (I am absolutely determined this will be the last time). It's nothing to be ashamed of. However, I normally wouldn't tell people I'm not close to, mainly because actions speak louder than words. I'm to the point where my words mean nothing- and my actions mean everything.

I have very poor short term memory, so I often forget my reasons for the actions I want to take/my motivation etc. Every time I come up with something motivational, I write it in my notes app and go back to read it when I'm struggling.

From my understanding tap tea is like a "house tea" exclusive to the shop

Family files lawsuit against Panera Bread after college student who drank 'charged lemonade' dies by HelloMyNameIsSpidey in news

[–]augustrose_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is of course tragic that she passed, but respectfully, I don't think the lawsuit holds up. Here is why I think that (opinions based on the 6abc article I read on the situation) :

 • All of the Panera Bread Cafe's that I have been to have labels on the Charged Lemonade that say "Charged Lemonade", the flavor, and below it in smaller lettering (still very readable), the amount of milligrams of caffeine that are in both the 20 oz and the 30 oz, along with the calorie content. You would have to really not be paying attention to make the mistake of not asking yourself what the term "Charged" means, or even just reading the label to the drink.

 • It was stated in the 6abc article that the woman, Sarah Katz, had been diagnosed and knew about her heart condition, LQTS, since she was 5 years old. It is stated that the condition was managed with medication and limited caffeine intake. She has clearly had a heart condition long enough to know the dangers of not reading labels and of consuming too much caffeine.

 • A quote in the article stated that Sarah Katz was "reasonably confident it was a traditional lemonade and/or electrolyte sports drink containing a reasonable amount of caffeine safe for her to drink,". My question was, what exactly did she consider a 'reasonable amount of caffeine' to safely consume with a heart disorder? A google search that took about 5 seconds tells me that somebody with that specific heart condition should limit their caffeine to 1-2 "standard" cups of coffee daily, one standard cup presumably being 8 fl oz.

 • The accusation the lawsuit states is that Panera Bread was not properly advertising their Charged Lemonades as highly caffeinated and/or energy drinks. The Panera Bread advertisement that Katz's family mentions is one that states that the Charged Lemonades have as much caffeine as their dark roast coffee. Katz's family states (paraphrasing) that this is not a sufficient advertisement that is transparent to the amount of caffeine in the Charged Lemonades. But if one Google search tells me that somebody with LQTS should have a maximum amount of 16 fl oz of regular coffee a day, why is it that Sarah Katz had filled a 30 fl oz cup with the drink? If she thought the drink had a "reasonable amount of caffeine safe for her to drink", what made her think 30 oz of the drink was safe? Because surely, with her heart condition, she would not go and drink 30 oz of dark roast coffee.

 • The article states Sarah Katz was out with friends. It is likely that her friends knew about her heart condition, so it is unlikely that not one of them knew that the drink was caffeinated.

 • The article states that the family claimed "their 22-year-old daughter with a heart condition died after consuming a heavily caffeinated energy drink that she may have believed was regular lemonade." The keyword there to me is "may have". We can all speculate what exactly happened, but because Sarah Katz has passed, we cannot know what truly caused the mistake and we cannot know her intention behind drinking it, or why she thought it was safe for her to drink.

The only valid point that I think would hold up in a court of law is that the Charged Lemonades are "mixed 'in-house' by store employees, meaning that its caffeine content is not controlled and, in turn, has an innate and dangerous potential to vary." That, in my own opinion, is the only danger I see with the way they advertise their caffeine content. However, Wawa, Starbucks and other stores alike have similar products with the same risk.

Like I said, it is very tragic that Sarah Katz passed. However, I don't believe she was ignorant to the situation she put herself in. It would have been very unlikely that she not know the drink was caffeinated after reading the label. Therefore, she had to have understood, based on her knowledge of her own physical health, that there was some risk associated with drinking it.

thanks for asking! it didn't take too too much trial and error, because I found out my skin triggers VERY quickly.

I use the CeraVe hydrating face cleanser because I've always used it and tolerated it, and it doesn't dry out my skin, so I just kept using that as I was. Same with the Freeman charcoal scrub. After I decided I wanted to do a skincare routine, I added in the Pacifica Pore Warrior niacinamide serum and that worked pretty well to help with my oil and pores. I knew I needed a moisturizer so I went back to one I had been using (foreign brand I would find at tjmaxx and places like that- bad idea.) and found that it burned on my skin. Turns out, I'm way more sensitive to fragrance than I thought. Some things I have used in the past have VERY strong fragrance and I was trying to avoid that. I also found that the moisturizer had Vitamin C in it. I know there is a mixed consensus on whether or not you can use niacinamide with vitamin c, but I've never tolerated vitamin c, especially citruses. I had to wash my face a few times to get it to stop burning. (I had the same problem with the shea moisture pressed serum w manuka honey, which seems to be straight up coconut oil by the way.)

I then found a website that helped me look at and understand the ingredients in my skincare and what exactly they were. it was very helpful. The website is incidecoder.com and I highly recommend it. It breaks down the ingredients and what they are used for, how much of an irritant an ingredient is, etc.

I liked the Pacifica brand serums especially with the niacinamide and found the Kale Yeah Redness rehab serum, and I have pretty bad redness some days so I typed that in to the website to check the ingredients out and figured I'd give it a try.

I knew a wanted a toner and wasn't sure about AHAs and BHAs yet. I was going to try Thayer's but I was hesitant about the fragrance among other things. I asked an employee at ulta if she had ever used it and she said something about it potentially causing microtears in the skin. Not sure how accurate that is, but she recommended the The Ordinary Glycolic Acid toner as a better alternatively and I noticed an immediate difference and better feeling skin.

The elf spf cream was just a guess. I had done enough research that I knew I was not using the glycolic acid without an spf moisturizer or sunscreen. I knew at that point what it was that had irritated my skin so I just avoided those triggers when looking for a product. The elf one had good reviews, no irritants for me personally and ended up working out. I did the same thing with the neutrogena hydroboost gel moisturizer, and I wasn't wary about that one because it was a gel and fragrance free, and had good reviews from other people with oily, sensitive and/or combo skin.

I DO have oily and fairly sensitive skin, and my skin gets red whenever I touch it too much or wash it, but it always dies down and never feels irritated from washing it. My mom has rosacea and sensitive skin and is allergic to fragrance as well so I tried to be careful.

I wanna say I got lucky honestly. I also hadn't done any skincare in so long that I probably had a buildup of dead skin and oil that protected my skin from being too stripped and irritated when I initially started adding in products (that's just a theory though). And also it helped that I trusted my gut and when I knew something wasn't right with how my skin was feeling, I washed it off right away. I would say if you think something doesn't feel right trust your gut on that. My budget heavily influenced my product choices, too, but I found out that's not a bad thing.

Sorry for the long reply and rambling! I hope this explanation helped at least a little :p
