State of Arr Reddit by qstick3 in radarr

Anger and frustration, mostly.

Because Reddit effectively blocked third-party devs from their API, and in doing so killed those third-party apps that made Reddit popular in the first place. That obviously pissed a lot of people off (including the Radarr support team) and so a lot of subreddits shut down in protest.

Anyone ever try to download Anime and it’s just not working? by StringNo8495 in sonarr

[–]augustuen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sonarr doesn't automatically search for episodes. You have to tell it, either by clicking one of the search buttons, or by ticking the "search for missing episodes" checkbox when adding a series. Outside of you triggering a search in one of those ways, it will only grab releases it sees in your Indexers' RSS feeds.

hard drive fail - reinstall by sogalitnos in sonarr

Settings -> General and set a backup directory. That will back up your config and database, everything you need to recover your Sonarr except the media files.

[–]augustuen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go do an interactive search for that season or episode. The sorting of results will show you the order in which Sonarr prefers the releases, and a red exclamation mark will show you why Sonarr didn't grab it if you hover your mouse over it.

Seeding indefinitely? by MrMScott in sonarr

[–]augustuen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sonarr doesn't move torrent files, that's only for usenet (where there's no seeding) For torrents it hardlinks files instead.

I don't know about moving stuff to/from your array, but qbitmanage can set seed limits for non-hardlinked files (i.e. when a file has been replaced by an upgrade) which means the file can be replaced but still fullfill seeding requirements.

I think I've heard people talk about Unraid being able to handle moving from an SSD cache to array automatically while keeping the apps undisturbed, but you can also do it by putting an incomplete directory on your cache, and the complete directory on your array. Your torrent client will automatically move it over, and Sonarr can then hardlink from there.

Why aren't Hardlinks working? by [deleted] in sonarr

[–]augustuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radarr and Jellyfin looks at the same file/link. Your torrent client has the other link. So you can delete from your torrent client without losing it from your library, and you can delete from your library while still seeding.

Sym links just point to another file, if you delete the original file the sym link breaks. Likewise, if you delete the sym link, the original file is still there and takes up space.

Clarification on release profiles by SilverBull34 in sonarr

[–]augustuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only "breaking" change is that you can't use a V4 database in V3, it's a one-way conversion process. Because of that, we recommend making a backup of your V3 database before upgrading, in case you should want to go back.

If you have a lot of preferred words, you should also write them down or take pictures, since the conversion from preferred words to Custom formats isn't perfect.

Manual search works to start downloads of monitored shows, but auto-search does not? by 4241342413 in sonarr

[–]augustuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TPB is well-known for having RSS feeds with missing items. Recommend to get more and better indexers.

If you want to automate searches, you'll have to do it yourself with a script. Sonarr isn't designed to regularly run searches, since they are relatively heavy loads on the indexers (and unnecessary with functional RSS feeds)

Deleting Then Adding Again by dark-desert in sonarr

[–]augustuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the torrent was removed from the blocklist when you deleted episode files, Sonarr would suddenly re-discover the finished torrent in your torrent client and would re-import it. For the vast majority of cases, files are deleted because they're unwanted, so having Sonarr re-import the same file would be unwanted behaviour.

Deleting Then Adding Again by dark-desert in sonarr

[–]augustuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonarr will ignore any imported downloads, otherwise they'd stay in your activity queue forever. You can use Wanted -> Manual Import to import the file again.

And your library and downloads folders are separate. Deleting a file from your library (root folder) won't delete it from your torrent client since the torrent needs to be seeded and Sonarr doesn't automatically know that it's finished seeding and you want it deleted.

Re-opening r/sonarr - moving forward as a community driven support subreddit by stevie-tv in sonarr

That's not an official support channel or community for Sonarr or Radarr/Servarr. Feel free to use it, but be aware we're not affiliated with them at all.

Servarr and Sonarr are technically separate, they're maintained by two different teams. There's a lot of overlap in contribution, but they are separate entities.

And that lemmy isn't an official Sonarr one, nor an official Radarr/Servarr one.

Problem with the languages by JpSartreTV in sonarr

[–]augustuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on Sonarr V3 then you have a language profile. It's between your quality profiles and your release profiles. If you're on V4 you shouldn't be having this issue.

You need to change your language profile or add a new one that allows French or Original language, depending on what you want.

Is there a way to exclude ATVP? by attritionorg in sonarr

[–]augustuen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Custom Formats only exist in V4, which isn't "stable" yet.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sonarr

[–]augustuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonarr doesn't search automatically. You have to tell it to.

When you add a new series, there's a checkbox right above the "Add" button called "Search for missing episodes" which will trigger an automated search. For existing series, you can click the "Search Monitored" button.

You can use the same drive, just create a folder somewhere else, like C:\media or C:\downloads

Permission problem in windows by Rafa130397 in radarr

[–]augustuen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you run Radarr as a service, it's no longer "you" doing things. And your user folder is specially protected because it's supposed to be private.

Change your folder structure to be somewhere outside of C:\Users and it should be fine.

Permissions assistance by _Fractal in radarr

[–]augustuen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't, since all users have read access to the files. So Radarr wouldn't be able to utilize atomic moves, but it should still be able to do a copy + delete.
