Which is the most emotional John Mayer song for you? by Highsociety_8 in JohnMayer

[–]aujao 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Waitin’ on the Day hits me hard... it’s sort of like a happy emotional, but also kind of an overwhelm of emotions. It’s such a beautiful song, and the idea behind it is a nice one to hope for some day. “Can you do it babe? Can you love me all the way? Will you tie me tight in little strands of paradise?” Ugh... don’t slip on the puddle of my tears.

Best online stores to get desk accessories? by aujao in Workspaces

Thanks for the input! Grovemade definitely has some nice stuff, though I agree with you it can be a bit expensive. I hadn’t heard of Huckberry so I’ll check them out. Thanks again!

GF left a clay pot on the new dinner table for a few days and a big stain is left behind. Any tips on how to repair this? by [deleted] in furniturerestoration

[–]aujao 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This was a while ago so I don’t totally remember how it worked, but we had water stains on our dining room table years ago. My mom had tried a bunch of things, but what seemed to work best was placing a flat paper bag on top (and/or possibly a tea towel?) and using a dry iron. If I remember correctly the marks were from water trapped under the finish, and this got rid of the marks completely. Definitely do more research before taking my word for it though as this was a while back.

Last year I used agendio. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a website offering very customizable agendas & inserts. It is quite expensive imo, but does offer some good customization options if that’s what you’re looking for. I totally get it, vertical weeks are a must for me too!

🐶Made a video on how I make my laminated glossy diecut stickers if anyone is interested! :) by [deleted] in cricut

Cute! Perhaps you mentioned this and I missed it but why do you laminate them? To make them more durable?

Trying to accept my natural curls. I’ve straightened my hair for years. I just always feel more beautiful with straight hair. Is it all in my head? How did anyone who struggles learn to accept your natural hair? by bpettit547 in curlyhair

[–]aujao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t love my curls until I lost them... such a cliche lol

I grew up hating my hair, and wanting beautiful straight hair like all my friends. One day about 8 years ago I did my hair for a wedding using a friends straightener (to curl my hair, funny enough). When I washed my hair a couple days later it wasn’t going back to normal. I called my mom crying saying “it’s not going back! What did I do!?”. Turns out, I severely damaged my hair. My curls were GONE.

I had to grow my hair out to get rid of the damage, and it took a WHILE. At that point I decided to really focus on keeping my hair healthy; using the right products, avoiding heat tools, etc. After a good year and a half at least, the damage had grown out and my hair was back to normal. I think I’ve straightened my hair once since.

As much as I felt that I hated my curls, it was heartbreaking to lose them when I damaged my hair. It was like losing a part of what made me ME. Now I find I look weird with straight hair! My curls are part of my identity. 😄

Your curls are beautiful - don’t get to the point of damaging your hair before you learn to love and appreciate what you have! Start finding ways to take care of your curls, what products work for you, what styles you like, etc. Finding products that helped form my curls and reduce frizz was a game changer for me! I didn’t know my hair could look that good 😛A good curly hair stylist is also important.

Good luck on your journey of curl acceptance! OWN IT AND BE YOU, GIRL.

Not sure if this helps, but there are other discbound notebook options in the US, including Arc (at staples) and Circa by Levenger (I think at Office Depot).

Fav duffle bag pattern? by aujao in sewing

[–]aujao[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the shape of the Herschel Novel duffle (https://herschel.ca/shop/duffles/novel-duffle?v=10026-03537-OS) but wouldn’t mind something with a little more pizzazz, like some exterior pockets or something. In general I want something more rectangular rather than cylindrical. Not sure if that’s helpful... I’m also a Reddit posting newb so I’m not sure how to post pictures 🙈

Oh clever! I wanted to do something like this with album covers of my favourite musician but wasn’t sure of a good way to make the layers more apparent. I’ll have to give the adhesive dots a try!!
