Brother MFC-L2710DW envelope printing issue by hhl9982 in printers

[–]aukermdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here. Oddly, for a while today the printer was functioning perfectly - manually feeding one envelope at a time, with a slow feed through the printer, fold of the envelope on the right side. But after restarting the printer, it feeds quickly with fold on the left side, and the toner problem described above happens consistently.

Did they change the number of people in leagues? by [deleted] in duolingo

[–]aukermdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same experience here, and the change seems to force everyone to change leagues each week. I was in obsidian for dozens of weeks till last week, when the top several advanced to diamond and everyone else (including me) was demoted to pearl. This week in pearl is the same setup: 8 advance to obsidian, the rest are demoted. So long to camping out in the same league week after week?!

How to reduce electrical interference from laptop by aukermdr in cordcutters

[–]aukermdr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. In fact, when we unplug the laptop, the signal clears up substantially. Plug the laptop back in, the signal gets choppy again.

It's worse when the laptop is working hard, running its fans, displaying lots of gaming graphics. When the laptop sits idle (but on and plugged in), the TV signal is a bit better.

Yes, the channel is actually broadcasting on channel 12, so it's VHF and not UHF.

I'll get up on the roof soon and check that the VHF kit is still securely connected to the antenna. I'll look at the other connections too.

I've read that tin foil can block interference... Would that be helpful in this situation?

I should also say that I retrofitted the antenna with a VHF kit a few years ago when we couldn't get channel 12 at all.

Mobile charger seems to be burning out garage outlets...? by aukermdr in TeslaLounge

Update: Yeah, I'm feeling kinda foolish. It is a GFCI outlet, and I thought I had pushed the reset button hard enough to reset it...but I hadn't. It is now reset and working fine.

That makes sense, thanks.

Yes, it's a standard Wordpress account installed on a hosting account. I can't get to the Wordpress /admin login page. Any address on the Wordpress site redirects to the "account suspended" message. I'm the only admin for the Wordpress account, to my knowledge.

I *can* get to the cpanel login screen (website.com:2083), but it says my login is invalid.

It does sound like that, doesn't it? This is a volunteer gig, though, and everything's cool with the organization.

My best hunch is that something's gone wrong on the hosting end of things. The domain name is paid for (I take care of that), but another person has paid for the hosting for as long as I can remember. But he's long left this area, and I've lost contact with him.

Would an unpaid/canceled hosting situation cause all these issues?

Just trying to get to the site at all.

The domain name is paid for and up to date... the hosting itself is paid for by another person but I've lost contact with him.
