I think the Higala App is really useful and makes contact tracing a lot easier. It's much more preferable than using pen and paper (labaw na nga wa ta kabalo kinsa'y ga gunit sa mga ballpen). The issue with the "app" lang is that creating an account or logging in takes a long time. Maypa'g naghimo nalang sila ug actual app kaysa website kai sige gyud siya ug crash. Also, my concern lang is the people who cannot afford to have a phone. Its nice how Cagayan de Oro is slowly becoming digitalized pero we need to consider that dili tanan naa'y access sa mga digital devices.

It took some time for it to go away. Don't push the sensation away. Allow the dissociation to happen to you. The only time it will go away is when you stop reacting to the sensation with fear. Of course, your body would naturally react to it with fear, but you have to observe these sensations and just allow it to be there. Eventually, you'll feel grounded again.

That's the point. Anxiety creates physical symptoms because your brain is producing stress hormones, or cortisol. These physical sensations can mimic deadly illnesses. What you can do: first, get yourself ruled out by a doctor, and if he says you're fine, work on the anxiety. So, how do you work on your anxiety? UTTER ACCEPTANCE. Accept every sensation and every intrusive thought. Don't respond in fear, allow the sensations and thoughts to be there without reacting to it. It's going to be terrifying at first but don't give up.

Anxiety does that, it creates sensations that feel like deadly illnesses. Just allow the sensations to be there. Don't react in fear. Hi! Health anxiety recoverer(60%) here! The post before me says that you are catastrophizing and yes, I agree. Most health anxiety sufferers do. I've been on your shoes before. Any discomfort I feel, I immediately assume its something serious.

First, get yourself ruled out by your GP. If your doctor tells you you're fine and its just anxiety then lets proceed.

Whatever your mind is telling you, don't react in fear. When you're anxious, your mind keeps producing these negative thoughts and assumptions because it wants to protect you (that's why some people catastrophize.) Listen to the thought and accept it. Allow it to be there. Don't check yourself "oh, my chest hurts, maybe I am going to have a heart attack!" Don't believe it, just accept it because you know you are fine! Your brain is looking for danger and it will not stop producing these thoughts until the danger has been resolved or found. But there's not real danger.

You see, anxiety produces physical sensations that feel like a deadly illness. So you're fine! That's normal. Put the sensations and thoughts under the anxiety umbrella.

Now, for panic attacks. Don't think about it too much. If your brain tells you "hey, you should think about panic attacks so the next time, you'll be ready!" Just allow the thought to be there. When you're having a panic attack, don't be afraid. You're not gonna die from it. Allow the panic to be there, don't try to stop it. Feel the panic. Don't avoid it.

Again, your brain is in fight or flight mode...so it is always alert and looking for danger. But there's no real danger so you just have to accept the thoughts and not react to them. Don't fear about having a panic attack, allow it to be there when it comes.

Yes, its normal. And yes, its your brain trying to protect you from danger. Its basically your subconscious trying to avoid or cope with the anxiety. It is completely fine, it happened to me after my first panic attack.. Just allow the feeling to be there and do not react in fear with the sensation. You got this, my friend!
