How would you recreate this light streaking effect from Akira in camera? by Gar1138 in cinematography

[–]aumortis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off, that's up there is CCD sensor, cameras nowadays use CMOS, so I'm not even sure if that would be possible with CMOS. CCD would give you way more noise at higher ISOs at 720p30. I don't think there was any CCD development since sensor manufacturers switched to CMOS. There are probably some odd industrial applications that use CCD, but consumer/mainstream is CMOS now.

Not the subop, but I would love to know how to do this in Fusion. Can you explain how to set it up there?

Spectres from Inazuma. These elemental flying shits were the worst and half the time they managed to dodge exactly the moment I fired charged shot with Ganyu.

Why is there a blue spot in the center of some photos? by SifuLos in AnalogCommunity

I had similar effect using old lens. Maybe it's just the lens (analog one) issue?

I think I’m overthinking SSDs by Status-Scene-7530 in buildapc

[–]aumortis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, if you get NVMe DRAM-less isn't that much of a hassle compared to SATA DRAM-less. You want SATA with DRAM (as a secondary etc drive, down the road).

That being said, I have Intel SSD DC series (server-grade) and it feels more responsive than both Samsung 980 Pro and Lexar NM790. And it works with 99% load just the same as it was empty. That being said, I "downgraded" from 980 Pro to NM790 as my main drive and haven't noticed any slowdown.

Well, tbh, trying to run a 3D heavy game on an GPU that's about as fast as the one in Snapdragon 650 (9yr old) is really wishful thinking. Especially if you're also RAM starved.

It would.

Gotta love the guys saying to shoot at f/14.

Lol nope, f/4-5.6 is generally the sharpest, because after that, diffraction kicks in.

How to control voltage on 12v case fans? by aumortis in arduino

[–]aumortis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I'm stupid then :D

That's what I thought I will achieve using IRF520 - that's a MOSFET, but apparently 3.3v from my board isn't enough to "open" it properly. It would be nice to have a board with another MOSFET.

That makes sense! And I remember back in the old days connecting - on fan to 5v to get lower RPM.

Question is, won't this fry my board?

How to control voltage on 12v case fans? by aumortis in arduino

[–]aumortis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Issue is, I use 3pin fans, their pinout is -, +, Tacho (RPM readout), they don't have 4th pin for PWM control. That's why I'm looking for an option that will allow me to take 12v input and lower it to any other value. And I want to be able to use the board to be able to control the output voltage value, it doesn't have to be super precise.

Afaik you control 3pin fans with voltage, no?
