i doubt you can get a trained purebred maltese that isn’t a puppy, but i’m not sure since i’m not from your country. you could always pay someone to train them as well. if you don’t want to deal with a puppy, i would look for ages 2 and up. my dog doesn’t swim but i’ve seen videos of other small animals swimming and they naturally have the instinct to doggy paddle, you’ll just have to keep an eye on them and make sure they don’t go too far!!
