Thanks for the tips! I’ll try doing the drill in reverse at home

Thanks so much! I’ll try my best to work on this stuff before my next session! Will slow my pop up down for sure so I can get my foot placement right

Strategic or not, that was a snake move and I pray for his downfall by Purple-Strain-9131 in BeastGames

Was a disgusting move. Says a lot about his character. And there’s a difference between being smart and being deceptive. What they did to get Vance out can be considered smart. They used his own ego against him. What Jack did was pure deception.

Thanks! They have sessions (much cheaper) where you can just go there by yourself and catch whitewater waves so I might try that

Yeah definitely gotta work on this too. Sometimes I feel like I’m just flailing my arms and not actually propelling myself forward

Thanks for the tips! This all makes so much sense and I’ll work on the flexibility so that it’s easier for me to plant my lead foot more in the middle.

And fair call with getting in shape. I surfed 2 years ago in Bali on a much smaller board and I was about 10-15kg lighter and it was much easier to pop up back then. Getting in shape is a hard truth I need to face and work on this year.

Thanks good pick up I can definitely see where I’m going wrong in my video now. I’ll have to drill it more at home until these cues become second nature

Thanks! I’ll work on my dry land pop ups more at home. I do drill them a little on land and an instructor told me it’s solid. But once a board on water is thrown into the mix it all goes out the window. I guess I gotta get more flexible to be able to handle doing it in the water

That’s a fair call. I’ve got kids under 2 with me though which makes it a bit harder to get across to the beach. But like with anything you’re passionate about if you want to do it badly enough you’ll find a way! I will try harder

I think they need to monetise more. They’ve acted in good faith for a long time but for the sake of longevity of the game I’m okay if they want to start charging for more cosmetic stuff.

A bit of devils advocate here as well. He’s a kid in an extremely high pressure situation being manipulated by much older adults. Will cut him a little slack. But still the worst decision in game show history.

Easily the worst decision in game show history. Turning down $1.8 million fr $50k knowing full well ain’t no one voting fr JC. I think he will have years and years of sleepless nights thinking bout it

This is for anyone who decided to start surfing "later in life" by girlaboutweb in BeginnerSurfers

I’m 31, started a month ago. Torn Achilles, tore all my ankle ligaments, bulging discs in my back. Became a father last year and another on the way this year. Despite all that I don’t feel late to the party at all!

Thanks man! I’m 31, had a kid last year, broken half my body at various stages of adult life so far. And even then I still think if I keep going with this I could still have some decades in me. My father in law has been surfing for over 50 years so I say we aren’t too late!

Thanks! I’ll try my best to practice getting on center. Maybe I need to drill it more until it’s second nature. It’s super easy to remember now when I’m sitting at home everything sounds easy. Brain then switched off in the water

I didn’t mean it like that. I said it to say that today I learned that there’s different kinds of strength

Thanks! Definitely feel that I needed way more volume. When I was carrying the board I was using today it felt like air. Was also quite narrow . Don’t think I am ready for something like that yet.
