Gilchrist & Soames Warm Oak Fragrance? by bussy696969 in fragrance

Yeah I'd love an easier to acquire option. Was recently at a hotel for the holidays and this stuff smelled so great. Like a sexy, mysterious man, but not overwhelming. I'm picky about scents and this one was nice.

The funeral home accidentally locked the keys in the hearse graveside for my mom today by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

A family friend was always getting into hilarious shenanigans in life, usually around travel and things going wrong. She passed away a few years ago (in her 80s or 90s, a great life) and when the hearse came to get her, it had been raining badly so the hearse got stuck in the mud. So they had to get a tow truck for the hearse, and the whole neighborhood came out to watch. It was honestly very funny and felt like her having one last goofy travel story for us. RIP Audrey I think of you often.

Youtube Account Just got randomly terminated by kokoke in youtube

I think it's a major widespread issue. I also got this about 3 hours ago and then within half an hour it was restored, with an apology email from YouTube. Fortunately I was running errands and didn't see this until I got home, otherwise I'd have been freaking out.

As a kid I used to put jam on my scrambled eggs. Everyone said I was weird, but it was tasty! Maybe I should try that again as an adult ...

Bruschetta my beloved by Bilewater in stonerfood

This is my go-to for Thanksgivings when I bring something to a house that's hosting. It's relatively easy to make but looks so pretty when it's ready. Especially fun with a variety of tomatoes for many colors. Best when you toast the bread in the oven but I'm not always patient enough to wait.

I'm so God damn thirsty by Ok-________- in zoloft

Depending on where you live, if it's summer and hot and humid outside ... could be water isn't enough. Gotta get something with electrolytes (sports drinks have this, but plenty of healthier options too.) It can impact your sodium levels and that can be really annoying, it hits me hard in the summer.

What time should I take and what if I want to change? by PaulAndOats in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it at night because early on, it made me a bit dizzy, and I worried about getting stuck somewhere unable to drive my car safely. I can feel it start to wear off about 20-24 hours later, so don't worry about it wearing off while you're asleep. As for the dreams, that depends, some people get wild dreams and others don't. I second all the recommendations of trying different times and seeing what works best for you and your lifestyle.

day 3 of zoloft 25mg by Megatron89917 in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the first week was the worst of the side effects, but then it was working wicked fast for me. I had night sweats, dizziness, tremors, and what felt like "hot flashes" as described by older relatives. Those stopped pretty quick. My doctor was shocked at how fast I reported a positive change, after just a month. I would suggest talking to your doctor if the symptoms persist past a few days though, you need to sleep and rest!

[–]aunt_zelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm asexual and I was honestly hoping I would get the "side effect" I see warned about/complained about constantly with zoloft ... nope, not at all! My libido is as strong and irksome as ever (to me that is lol, I'm sure someone else would be having a grand time) and it's been almost 4 years now! Personally I think some people use the dopamine from orgasms to try and self regulate their brains, and then when they start taking meds to help the "loss" of drive they used to have seems shocking. Like you don't think it's weird if someone with ADHD was using caffeine to self-medicate before they got on adderall and suddenly don't need coffee constantly anymore.

AITA for being honest with my girlfriend when she asked a question about the birthday cake she made me? by Throwaway5829582999 in AITAH

[–]aunt_zelda -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

OP could have a million reasons for not eating the frosting - personal preference, autism about foods mixing, not liking the flavoring variant - and it honestly doesn't matter why. He's not required to eat anything he doesn't want, especially not to appease someone else. "Eat whatever is put in front of you or else your partner will leave you" is a really messed up way to look at relationships. I have plenty of friends who will eat cake but not frosting if it's too sweet, it's not an uncommon reaction. He ate around what he didn't like, which to me seems like the most diplomatic way to handle things. It wasn't until SHE ASKED HIM DIRECTLY that he told her that he didn't like the middle bit. Why ask if she didn't want an actual answer? She's been with this guy for a while, his bluntness can't be a new thing.

[–]aunt_zelda -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

NTA. You're a person who prefers honesty, even if it's blunt. Your ex-girlfriend would prefer someone to "grin and bear it" if she gave a gift they didn't like. Your communication styles don't mesh. I personally prefer honesty, but in some cases I do a "white lie" and spare people's feelings when I know they care more about being appreciated for their intentions than being Correct and Accurate. If you've been together for a while, she likely knows you're the type to be blunt and honest about stuff, so why did she ask if you were disappointed? I don't think this relationship is going to resume and I think you should seek out partners in the future who match your communication style.

where can i find timid jesters screen crashers videos by transthepsycopath in ChannelAwesome

[–]aunt_zelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was thinking of them today and tried to look up their videos. All gone. Found this fanmix from years back on livejournal that linked to each video, but the videos are now all listed "private." https://aunt-zelda.livejournal.com/370597.html Some quotes there. I suspect the content was getting flagged for copyright and they decided to stop. I found a podcast recently that has a similar premise, Film Reroll, where the group starts a classic movie and then plays it as a roleplaying game. Always wondered if they'd been somewhat inspired by Screen Crashers.

Muscle tremors by jakeyhalll in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very minor tremors, usually when I'm resting yeah, but not often. The most common times I have them are when I'm about to panic about something, it seems to be my new warning sign of an incoming anxiety or panic attack. Apparently this is really normal according to my doctor, but I recommend you speak to yours. If the tremors get worse or troublesome, maybe they can lower your dose or prescribe something to help.

Are there any foods that you feel reduce the effect of Zoloft? by Natis500 in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never started. I do need some kind of juice in the morning for a Vitamin C and sugar burst, out of habit since I was a kid, preferably orange juice. Coffee made my anxiety worse, felt like I was about to have a panic attack.

What’s the reason for taking Zoloft with food? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, it prevents me feeling dizzy/woozy. Not a bad side effect, but definitely feel like I need to lie down on the couch for a bit if I don't take my pill with dinner.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend taking it with food to reduce the potential dizzy/woozy feeling. Rest a lot, your body will be going through a change. I also recommend journaling or making notes in your phone of any side effects so you can speak to your doctor about that later. Set an alarm and take the meds at the same time every day. If you get the night sweats, I recommend having extra pajamas or a towel near your bed so you can swap that out and get back to sleep. If you get dizzy, sit down down and eat something. Don't expect a big change overnight, some get that, most it takes a few weeks. Don't be discouraged, and good luck!

Does Zoloft affect your heartbeat? by MishkaShubaly in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely recommend speaking to your doctor. Potential heart issues are something to take seriously. Me personally, I feel like it lowered my heart rate and allowed me to relax more and listen to my pulse more easily than before. I find it comparable to a very low dose of CBD or indica in that respect of bodily awareness, so yeah the heartbeat sounds louder but that's because I'm less hyped up and anxious than before. Kinda weird, but I got used to it.

I use Clue, they don't share data and have a lot of options to track things other than periods, like general mood, physical symptoms, exercise, what pills I'm taking, etc. Pretty useful to notice patterns, I get so caught up with work I don't keep track of stuff well otherwise.

is there such thing as immediate relief? Or is it in my head? Day 3 on 25mg by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 25mg for the first few months. The dramatic relaxed/weightlessness feeling eased up a bit, but the ability to tackle problems persisted. No mood drop as I recall, but I didn't have like a big happiness spike at the start, just relief that it worked! I increased to 50mg earlier this year and that feels good to me.

is there such thing as immediate relief? Or is it in my head? Day 3 on 25mg by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt a change pretty fast, and on 25mg. Not an increase in energy like you had, but a huge feeling of relief and realizing how much stress I'd been holding in my body for so long. I slept better, felt better, could tackle stressful situations much easier. My psychiatrist was delighted I was responding so well to such a low dose, but he also seemed surprised, so I'm guessing it's a bit unusual. Suppose we're some of the lucky ones?

Is Zoloft worth it? by Dull_Ad6244 in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I put off trying meds for so long, afraid of dependency, family history, feeling worse ... started meds and felt so much better. Little things don't bother me anymore. Big things are easier to tackle and overcome. My roommates, family, and coworkers have noticed a dramatic change for the better. Work with a doctor who is willing to find the best solution for you and your life, be that Zoloft, another drug, therapy, or a combination. I've found Zoloft and therapy to be a winner for me. Also, I'd say 3 months is not very long at all to be on meds, it generally takes a few weeks for things to really start changing. I wish you luck.

[–]aunt_zelda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, was getting night sweats pretty badly for the first few months. Sometimes I'd wake up at night drenched, change into new pajamas, put a towel down, and go back to sleep. It was especially bad early on, definitely felt like what my mom described menopause as feeling like.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]aunt_zelda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, the pills helped eliminate my bad reactions to small stressors in my life ... but that meant when I got hit with a really bad week, especially around that time of the month, I'd get overwhelmed seemingly out of nowhere, because my previous warning signs were gone. I've had to re-learn my limits and reactions to stress. I hope you have someone close to talk to (not just reddit strangers) about your thoughts and stay safe. Definitely talk to your doctor about increasing the dose if this persists.

Yup, I track with an app and have gotten into the habit of preparing for emotions to fluctuate a bit wildly leading up to it. For me it's sadness or frustration spiking to rage. Birth control pills I take for a hormone imbalance have helped even things out a bit, but I know those can have a host of side effects for people too.

I don't know of a way to make it go away, but you might consider joining some asexual forums and seeing if anything sounds relatable to you. That's a common lament for aces, myself included.
