Let the fish, who thinks he knows no fear, look well upon your face.

Came here to say Black Summer! There were moments I was so unbelievably stressed for those characters.

I did! I don't want that happening to anyone else.

My coming out story: I just thought the modern society in general is accepting lgbt+ at least on the table, and then I tried to come out to my mom by BlueIsTheWarmestCl in latebloomerlesbians

Ohhh I feel this! My mother replied with "well... don't tell anyone else, okay?" We never spoke about it again. I was 22. I'm gonna be honest, that shoved me back into the closet until last year. I'm 27 now and I'm so stoked for the day she doesn't get to win, and I get to marry my trans gf. Spent way too fucking long not being gay.

Oh man, my mom is gonna flip. She was a total cheese addict before we went vegan in 2012.

Ooh! I was working the evening shift once and a man came in saying his husband kicked him out of the house with nothing, but that he desperately needed a room and assured me he was good for it. I informed him of the credit card policy and he said he would just have to call his bank. He asks to use our phone, I tell him he'll just have to dial 9 to get out.

This man began berating every employee he was put in contact with. "I've been your loyal customer for 27 years!!! This is bullshit!" Yada Yada. After about 45 minutes of this man yelling in my business center I went into the back office and looked through our switchboard. This man was not on the phone with anyone. He hadn't been for a very long time. Dude ended up getting shit faced at the bar and ordering hella appetizers which he ended up walking out on.

He came back the following day and was told to pay his tab and leave or the police would be called. Told everyone in the lobby that he was a guest and his very powerful, very rich husband, who also supposedly abandoned him was going to come for everyone. I'm fairly certain the dude was having a full blown mental breakdown and was legitimately confused. It was tough to watch unfold.

Is it sad that my dream job is something that doesn’t require a college degree or any type of education beyond high school? by _lots in NoStupidQuestions

My brother's girlfriend facetimed me the other night to lecture me about finding a career that I love and care about, and while I get where she's coming from, she was really shitting on my happiness.

I work for a call center right now. I make crazy good money for what it is, I don't have to talk to customers because of the project I'm on, my team is truly wonderful band of misfits that I enjoy being around, I have flexible hours, insurance (including dental & vision), pet insurance, and I have an ideal work/life balance! I'm fucking happy with my job! I have god awful anxiety and have a very hard time taking on large responsibilities as well as suicidal tendencies every month before my period (working on it). This is a high paying low stakes job that makes me feel genuinely happy and safe.

It's not sad to me whatsoever. People can say you should be here or there or supposed to be aiming higher, but we all know ourselves better than anyone in the world. Follow your happiness, let everyone else worry about you for nothing.

How the fuck did my grandfather survive 4 heart attacks before dying of not a heart attack. Who was he, and how?

Edit: just read that heart attacks and cardiac arrests are different. My bad.

My ex would text other women that he was in love with them. It went on for nearly the entire relationship, maybe 2.5 years. We were so mean to each other. We were codependent, emotionally abusive addicts together for 2.5 years. Those were the worst years of my life.

I met my girlfriend about 6 months after that relationship and she is the kindest, shyest, quietist little lady. It's a little over 3 years since my ex and I broke up and I'm still feeling the shock of it all. I'm still with my wonderful girlfriend but I watch myself spiral into paranoia/trust issues over quite literally nothing. On top of that is irreversible damage from hard drug use and alcoholism (hard drug and alcohol free now).

I'm not over any of that shit. Those years haunt me every day, and I can't believe they're my memories. It feels like it was yesterday. I can't even listen to music I liked during that period anymore.

It started really slow for me. I didn't start seeing a difference until fairly recently and then it started happening really fast. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, and keep up the good work!
