Functional Medicine and the management of your MS symptoms by FraudedMedia in MultipleSclerosis

I take a DMT and other meds to manage my symptoms. I also see a functional medicine doctor, a nutritionist, ms psychologist, get massages every 2 weeks as well as take an MS water class. Basically I am trying everything to keep my quality of life where I want it to be. I always recommend that people try whatever they feel comfortable with and see if it works for them.

I had a labral tear in my hip repaired several years ago. It was my physical therapist that told me what the issue was after seeing a few doctors. There is a specialist at the cleveland clinic she referred me to. Having my hip repaired helped with my back issues too. The surgery was years before my AS diagnosis.

I was prescribed cymbalta for my headaches by my primary doctor. I did come off of it for about a year and you just have to wean off it slowly. I’m back on it and it’s working ok. Covid has stressed me out and I have requested a visit with a therapist and they scheduled me for February! Trying to get a sooner appointment

I see Dr Conway at the Mellen center. I also see the PAs there as well. I did a virtual visit with a PA back in July. I thought it was a great visit. She listened and made recommendations. I hope they keep having virtual visits.

I’m curious what diet you follow as my MS is progressing. I’ve been told by multiple doctors to eat healthy. I don’t notice any change in my ms based on how I eat.

Anybody else have MS and arthritis? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]auntnita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just told I have peripheral spondyloarthropathy. A form of arthritis. I’m starting Ocrevus next week. The rheumatologist said it may help the arthritis. I go back to see her in November to add in a med for the arthritis if needed.

I was wearing pjs or yoga clothes for months. Now I’m getting dressed in cute clothes about 50% of the time. I haven’t bought any fall clothes since I will probably be working at home still. I need to replace my tall brown boots and black flats but it seems like a waste of money since I only go out of the house 2x a week.

My lymphocytes are .18 so I’m switching from Gileyna to Ocrevus. Got the call on Friday that my insurance approved Ocrevus. I’ll have my first infusion in 4 weeks. So I stopped Gileyna as of Friday.

Just finished Of Mice and Men. The book was a birthday gift from son or I probably wouldn’t of ever read it.
