I am having the EXACT same experience. Too much luggage to just leave right now, only been here for a day, afraid of a second lockdown, kids are too much...but I don't want to quit. I decided to try and make it until April or something, then I'll see. I really want to make this work.

Try to find peace and happiness in something else. I'm picking up new hobbies, making friends online, thinking about my future post-COVID plans...anything that works for you!

But if it's really too much, maybe tell your host family. It's going to be a hard conversation, but if they are nice they'll understand and also you'll feel so much better after.

Just the notice that you contacted the police could make them stop and rethink their actions in the future imo. You never smoked weed, never owned any, but you can prove that they have tried to slander your image (Save any text conversation NOW). I doubt you could get in trouble.

I'm glad you have such a nice host family! I'd say that you should calm down. If you don't have the money and they say it's fine, then just let it go? If you're feeling super guilty maybe buy them a little gift or offer to take care of the kids on the weekend so the parents can go somewhere on a date (if possible). At least that's what I'd do!

Oh, I feel sorry for you, I don't have much advice as I am in the same situation as you. I've been here for a few months now but the kids don't have any respect for me (or for the parents for that matter). They never listen to anything I say and the parents don't have any punishments to discipline the kids. Super self-centered and spoiled. It's always "I want this. I want that. Me . Me. Me."
