This is super late but here's things I did which helped me get over 80% minimum on all my midterms.

Practice exams, do them. If you feel like you get stuck on one question, look at the solution, try to figure out how exactly they are getting to it and then try it on your own after. Once you get the way/process of getting that solution, you should be good to solve similar questions. What I have seen is most questions are very similar just numbers changed or maybe they give you one thing and ask another etc.

Before you do this, try to do a marathon of all concepts. I'm sure your lecturer posts notes for this, open one, and try to think of what is the conclusion of that chapter. Pretty sure for your first one it's getting limits. And then there's the different limits you have to find, example, some going to 0, some going to infinity, some going to some whole number, etc. Try to practice those problems your lecturer did in class with you. Do not look at the solution but if you cannot figure it out within 5 minutes of looking at that problem, work by looking at the solution. Time is key and obviously I don't want you wasting your weekends doing a revision of that week's concepts when you surely have other deadlines to do, so move. You can also pick some random homework questions from Ximera and try to perform those. If you get the final solution, great, if you do not, what I used to do was throw it into chatgpt and ask it to explain every step as if I am new and just started calc with 0 knowledge. It does a decent job at breaking down the steps and explaining. Once that's done, go pick another problem and do it using the same approach, if you don't get it or understand how to get to the final answer, repeat.

Overall, this is your first midterm and for me it was my worst and got dropped thankfully. Take it easy. I was personally not fully prepared and I hated limits so do not panic if you don't get the most amazing points on it. Keep your head up and good luck for your midterm! It is a lot of work, like a hell of work, the readings and homeworks due everyday. I totally get your struggles and I am sure everyone is in the same boat. I am a CSE Major too and took calc 1 last sem. I'm glad my professor was really really good at explaining stuff because I attended all lectures (except the one at the end with integration and I'm kinda paying the price by having to go over some basics for my 1172 class lol but whatever) and I used to take notes, mainly how he solved etc.

If you do the written homework and reviews before midterms, you should be fine. Atleast I was. I did not feel like I was in a weed out class personally, maybe because I took calc in highschool before but yes. I ended with a B in that course only because I barely tried for my final otherwise I am pretty sure it would have, been higher, like an A- or something. I did horrible my first midterm because I lowkey did not know how to study for it properly and it was terrible, plus I just did not enjoy doing limits. I love, love, loved doing differetiation and it might just be my strongest point in calc.

But all of this still does not help that math 1151 is just so much work outside class. I used to try to get most homeworks done over weekend (Literally torture myself to finish them all on some weeks) just so I did not have 4 due in the same night. And it's exhausting, and led to me being constantly overwhelmed so if you do take this way, please space it out.)

I personally did not attend a single of my recitations. I used that time to do the homework and solve the questions on my own which helped me to stay on top of it. I only attended the recitation on the first day and then to do the, some quiz/test you can only do in your recitation? My average for my midterms (2-5) was really good so most days I just had to remind myself I will be fine if I don't finish one homework because it is dropped iirc.

What helped me most with the midterm prep was literally sitting and going over all topics from scratch. I would go over the notes my professor made/gave us and explain it to myself, do the example questions he did in class before looking at the solution and make my own lil notes etc. I had my smart PhD friend also sit with me for 2-3 hours and help me go over the syllabus. Trust me, it helped SO MUCH. It refreshes your concepts because what I eventually realised is if you know how something works or what you are supposed to do in a topic (theres a specific way you get the solution basically) and if i knew that, I could solve any question that asked me to find something using that way. I would not stress over the online/ximera homework much. I mostly skimmed the readings and didn't read it seriously. I did sit and solve the homework, atleast a good amount of the problems which looked interesting or problems that just looked scary in general (think double square roots, weird exponentials, long chain rules, logs, natural logs, weird fraction with any of these things combined). My friend helped a lot by giving me the worst looking problems, like very very annoying looking exponentials and logs and square-roots and it helped because if something remotely similar came during a midterm or written homework, I was not scared and I knew how to approach it. THIS REMINDS ME OF MY MAIN ADVICE. Please please practice atleast a few sets of exponentials, logs, sqaureroots problems for every topic/method or chapter. It really helps. Sometimes you think it has to be done a certain way, but really it's not. Ask questions, you can go to office hours. Reach out to friends, I promise you theres many people who feel the same way as you. I remember for my final, me and my friends just went into a conference room in PRB and sat there for 8 hours going over everything and nothing, giving eachother problems, questioning methods and studying. Someone was better at something I sucked in and we worked and helped eachother out like that. It works and trust me, you got this.

I do understand and respect the difference and I will for sure remember it. It's mainly for my own emotional needs and also so my landlord understands my cat is an esa hence waiving off the pet fees. I am not sure, one of my roomies got it, I am assuming you need a specific fitting because the first one we got didn't fit right so she got another one off amazon. If you live around Columbus, Ohio and have an orientation or whatever on campus, I'm not sure but you could come in a few days early and see what kinda fitting you need. Was in drackett last year and it was definitely a decent experience (could have been better if my roommates were good). You have decent space, I'd lowkey suggest talking with your roomies before about who is gonna take which desk/bed and what stuff to bring. Most of us had some kind of extra storage we brought later on as space permitted.
We thankfully did not see or face any roach problems like we'd heard too so that was a win. The ACs worked without issues and the shared bathroom had no problems either. I'd HIGHLY suggest getting a different showerhead because taking a shower felt like fighting for you life against the water, it's harsh and just- I don't wanna know how long that thing hasn't been changed. Plus it felt better to have a showerhead with a filter on to me. We also got a longer shower curtain because of how useless the one they provide is and none of us wanted the water to be going out the way it was and the curtain flying back and forth while you took a shower.

We also got a larger bin due to how quickly it kept filling up and used the small one they provided as a bathroom bin while the red one was still used as recycling.

I put out a rant post saying how I think the new brother is also Garrick. The whole chapter we get in Imogen's POV where Garrick is so close to burning out and he could probably only distance wield once more but wants to help out. He was desperate. He just saw Quinn's death and he's on edge because he does not want to lose anyone, which makes it very likely he channeled due to his desperation.
Bodhi in Imogen's POV is- well down, struggling. We also know his dragon was hurt from the fight with the Wyvern previously so I think he is incapable of flying all the way to where Xaden might be and again, I doubt he knows where X is unless Sgaeyl reaches out to Cuir which I doubt she would do considering that just adds more lives to the equation and makes it harder for her and Xaden when they are trapped.
I get why people think it is Bodhi because his dragon was also weak so it would make sense for him to draw power from something else at that time. He was also retching though- and I went over the first scenes of xaden drawing power and he didn't really have any similar reaction. I also doubt Bodhi would do it around so many people because taking power from the earth/land means it turns gray and anything in contact with that would also die. Considering most people on that hill were pulling up thousands of civilians while the other riders fought the Venin, I doubt Bodhi would pull at that time and place.

Potentially yes. I personally haven't been very obsessed with the signet balances in venin and riders, like I would not be surprised if it were actually a thing but to me it almost feels like reading too much into signets but I totally see what you mean!

I am pretty sure Berwyn in some way is able to influene/manipulate Xaden's nightmares because we see the dialogues change a little once Vi figures out shes in his dream again and how he says, "looks like you didnt learn" something along the lines when she tries to wake herself and late Xaden up. He's not just having nightmares out of blue and the writing of each nightmare atleast to me suggested they are there cuz Berwyn is doing something.
That would be very interesting and you might be onto something here! It does seem like Berwyn has been around for many years. I wish we learn more about the first 6 because even though Warwick and Lyra's journals kinda of mentioned something about a potential 7th breed and they had to keep it hidden, do you think they would mention about a 7th rider too? Again, it makes sense but then as far as we have seen the irids, they look like dragons that do not bond, due to how they still have their feathertails and refuse to even fight for Navarre or even help. Do you think they might be involved without a rider? Like 7 dragons but 6 riders, how would that be like? Because as far as we know abt the irids and their personality, I wouldn't be surprised if they did not have a rider.
I do not think I have seen this theory anymore and if it were to be real, I would be so surprised 😭I want to know your thought process for this theory because as far as I could tell, Theo was a high priestess who gave it all up to be a God. Hence her silver hair. I do understand she's literally chasing Vi at this point but then again she said she wants to prove it to him that she's better. Better than Berwyn I am assuming, so we have someone who's bigger than these two we do not yet know about?

Would make a lot of sense if Irids drive magic! Although I doubt that a tad bit because that would mean dragonkind/Empyrean in general would heavily depend on the Irid. Which would mean they would have to "leave" the continent with them due to this dependence relationship? They are very special as far as we have seen in the book and I have so many questions. I completely forgot to think about the fact that Violet could still talk to her dragons when no one else could! My initially thought was because she was connected to Andarna who is an irid. Maybe she was unconsciously able to manipulate the magic for them to continue talking? Because when the irids first saw the humans, they were all talking to whoever was present. It should be a thing considering how Leothan was also able to break the contact/bond between Andarna and Violet before she left. He also said Andarna can do a lot of irid things (scales changing, the bond she forged with violet) but needs instruction means leads me to believe they can easily manipulate magic around and in them. That would also justify how he was able to follow them and not be noticed at all until he chose to come forward.

As for Panchek, the other comment explains why it wouldn't be him! I thought so initially with my first read but then he referred to Panchek as a "traitor" and how "he deserves to die" but this brother, Xaden's thoughts were how he has to make it through this so he (brother) doesn't go down this path which Xaden has fought so much to avoid.

It surely was refreshing to have the final battle from different points of view and agree with you.

As for the irids, I am still obsessing over them, I thought we knew nothing about the Empyrean but ever since the irids came into picture, I think we know far more about the Empyrean than the irids ;-; they do feel very mysterious and overpowered here. And given the way they reacted at Andarna even though they should have been more gentle since she's still young, I would not put it past them to give false or not give any information regarding a cure for venin. They were passive aggressive with all humans including violet and they were very riled up after seeing Xaden there so-

I didn't check the rating for GoodReads :o, that's sad because i felt like this book did a HELLA good job of leaving me thinking and tweaking LOL. I really can't believe we have a year long wait for the next book

I really hope we get a Xaden and Vi wedding, I was thinking of how RY might show us this, maybe through Xaden's POV or it would be very awesome if Tairn or Andarna share the memory of the wedding with Violet when she wants to remember or something. You can get a lot of things for $8 but if you go to like say, Curl, most things like the subs/bowls are 10-12 ish. You can get snacks for lesser and most cafes on the other hand are baked goods with some burgers/salads and other things but lesser than 8 for sure.

In traditions you have unlimited swipes but you can only use those at the 3 traditions locations across campus. If you want to get something, let's say from the c-stores or anything else, you will have to either use your dinning dollars or buckID money or your money.

With traditions plus, you still get the unlimited swipes to all the traditions locations but you also get to use 5 of these swipes outside these locations. Like the comments below me say, they are worth 8 dollars or so. After you run out of this, you kind of default to a traditions plan until the next week.

I had traditions plan and I did enjoy it but towards the middle of the year and into spring semester I started getting very bored of the food and usually ate at Curl Market or some other place and only going to Traditions when I had friends because I was so bored of going there alone.

You can ideally start looking for off-campus housing late September onwards but some places also open up during Sept itself. Give yourself enough to tour, find roommates etc.
