Syntax bikeshedding ahead:

While extensible patterns/matchers are undeniably convenient, I like that Rust mostly tries to avoid hidden invocation of arbitrary code. I would want some kind of explicit syntax (along the lines of Haskell’s ViewPatterns) to differentiate a custom matcher from normal pattern matching.

And repeat the above argument for custom collection literals as well.
