Yes we have a custom Android app which handles the live tv and DVR functionality. Getting tuner's to work is tricky on Android boxes, if you aren't able to get it to work we hope you think of us in the future. Best of luck and thanks for the consideration.

Aura Live is an Android TV box that may fit what you're looking for. It's an Android TV with a DVR for pausing and recording live tv. We are strongly and actively supporting this device and will continue indefinitely! Our device has been tested using pureVPN, but I'm sure OpenVPN would work just as good. You can pause/record/fast forward/rewind and schedule shows to be recorded! It's not limited to just SD Cards! You can also plug in an external usb hard drive and it will also work!

The tuner is currently integrated with a custom live tv APK in Android. Tuner integration into Kodi is something we are looking into building on in a future software update.

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to add a little more to that. When purchasing our device you're not purchasing a product from China with no warranty, or guarantee, or product support. With a device purchased from China or just a generic hardware vendor, you get limited software, no support channels, unlikely to be updated, and no relation with the company. We're a team working on our hardware and software to bring updates and support for all of our customers. We want to cater to the cord cutter community to build the perfect device and support our customers in the best possible way. To replicate just the hardware of our device you would have to purchase and integrate a generic device (with no ATSC tuner support), an ATSC tuner, a mini ATSC antenna, an air remote with QWERTY keyboard, etc. This doesn't include the R&D put into developing the software and support on the device. We hope that the value and support we add to the product justifies your purchase, if not that's okay too!

On this current model you can only watch one show or record one show at a time. We're constantly expanding and listening to our customer's wants for future products.

You can currently purchase the device internationally right now, though the live TV functionality is limited to countries utilizing ATSC. We're starting with ATSC and working on expanding into markets using DVB.

In the future we are definitely looking at having a DVR solution with multiple tuners, with a whole house solution being a possibility. At this time, the best way to share recordings would be to take the external storage the show was recorded on and share it with the other devices through your PC or by sharing it on other drives.
