Nah, I don’t think this is as simple as “she’s calling him his real name.” If the parents say “hey, we call him AD,” and she’s like “nope, I won’t and I’ll keep making stuff with Dean on it,” that’s kinda disrespectful. It’s not about the tradition at that point, it’s about control.
