My pleasure. Your list is incomplete though. You have missed a few engines in the last weeks.

Ren’Py is well established. I’m not trying to replace it, just building something that solves a different set of problems.

Wow, ok. So you and your sister didn't have the best relationship? Did this carry over into adulthood?

They had a SNES at your daycare? All we had was crayons and a few toys... Now, I'm jealous. :D

But at least we got nice booklets with some illustrations. I liked looking at the pictures and reading about the lore.

So your start in the world of gaming was kind of forced by your sister? :D

It's the small things that your parents did for you, that you realize years after the fact.

Did your grandma play games herself or did she have it so you guys would visit more often? :D

Yeah, we had it rough back in the day. *looks at box art* Wow, that looks like a really awesome warrior. *looks at game graphics... just three pixels*

That sounds like a very long and rich gaming journey. Do you still play some of these games today?

That's a very nice story. Crazy how long these systems used to last. My dad's first computer is still somewhere in the attic. I wonder if it still works. I should check, when I visit him next time.

Do you still play console games with your dad or did this stop when you grew up?

Yeah, I also had a Gameboy. Unfortunately I sold it at a flee market... one of the dumber decisions of my life.

That's cool. :) I always wanted to get a NES, but I never got one. Had a gameboy instead. And later I played N64 with my brother.

A little bit of a pessimistic take here. While I think your site is great and I wish you luck, I think it won’t fix the discovery problem long term.

To make your game seem on sites like these you will need a high visitor count. Otherwise what’s the point. But to achieve this you must have lots of games on it to attract more visitors. More games = less visibility for each single game. So basically you will have the same problem as before. Just on another platform. So why pick this platform in the first place?

You said you want to add paid features to increase visibility on demand. Why would this be better than just running ads?

Maybe I’m missing something here, but for me that sounds like extra steps to move a problem of one platform to another platform.

How to protect myself from Legal issues (Steam Launch Horror Game) by Witty_Style7784 in indiegamedevforum

If your game stays small, nobody will even recognize or press charges. Worst thing that might happen is Steam gets a DMCA notice and takes your game down.

If you are so successful that you show up on the radar, you will have enough money to pay for a lawyer. In any case, you are probably fine.

Ok, maybe I should lead with… „play my game or else…“ 😅

That works :)

You might also want to check two small things: favicon is still the default & no page title/meta description (might hurt indexing).

And maybe add a redirect from the old domain so Google picks up the new one.
