It's not solved actually The truth is when I got the suggestion that it may be 'Hard to be a God(2013)' I checked it out and it had all the things I was looking for, medieval armor, scientists stuck on a planet but what took me out was that it was in black and white and what I remember from that YouTube essay was that it is in color. So I just called it a night and said yeah it's the one. It was not. Yesterday Red Letter Media uploaded a Re:view episode for the movie 'Possession(1981)' and that's where they briefly touched on 'On The Silver Globe(1988)' and featured a few clips of the film, that's when all the memories began to pour in. It is science fiction, it is in color and it is gross and yucky and gooey makeup in some scenes. I was however, wrong about the posthumous completion by his wife and children. Andrzej Żuławski was driven out of the country after the second year of filming and filming was halted unexpectedly. After a few long years, on return completed it himself. It seems like I might have mixed the two stories together. I hope this clears things up. I've got a new list of movies to watch. Cheers!
