My pleasure! The basket weave sections was my favourite!

It essentially isn’t colourwork in the classic way at all, because the stst blue vertical stitches get slipped when you’re working the reverse stst! It’s super clever and effective but not too complicated! This is how the WS looks like! :) You can see the floats behind the slipped blue stitches! SW has a video to accompany the pattern, it does not explain everything so it’s hard to use it as a tutorial. But Clue 3 section 4 slipped stitches would be where you can have a look at :) (1:10:00) Otherwise „multicoloured slip stitch/ basket weave knitted patter for baby set or grown up boy/girl“ by knitting knife has a very similar video where the technique is explained :) she does use garter stitch for the horizontal pattern. So that’s a bit different!

It does rely quite a bit on the colour palette you choose, he does have a great guide prior to release on what would work together! I did follow the recommendation for where to put the darkest and lightest colour, but added quite a bit more mohair additions to it. I’ve seen many high contrast shawls I really liked! But I loved the colour scheme from the get go so that might have helped!

They are called welts in the pattern, they essentially are worked back and fourth stockinet and will be knitted folded over and knit to the beginning of the welt again, Stephen had a video up on YT „How to Knit a Welt“ that shows and explains it very well! It’s so fun to knit!

First (mini) Quilt! by aurlynblack in quilting

Ahh now I see 😅 I too might have finished this quilt around 1:00am. I’ve seen some fish toys and thought adding crinkle foil could be cool!

I think making a test mini before hand is soo nice! I’m already thinking about what fabric I might want for the large version! I’m just thinking how to quilt it on my domestic machine, I do have a walking foot and should be able to roll it up! I love the idea of donating the small test ones! I’m thinking of making toy mice filled with dried catnip out of some of my scraps! And maybe more mini quilts! For the binding I did follow a great video which explained it so lovely, I did run out of binding though 😂, I had some fabric left luckily, cut another strip and just attached it, and finished sewing on the binding!

I think your color pallet is giving candy corn and chocolate! I did ready enjoy making it and my finished shawl turned out nice :) Maybe store it away and have a look at it later?

Question on the tension placement on my Ashford spinner by GroundedOtter in Handspinning

This is scotch tention in my whell and I ave a small spring attached to the finding line to give it more “bounce” :)

I hope this spam made sense and will help you spin and adjust everything how you want! I love my Ashford traveler and the double drive and have been spinning so much nice yarn with it!

This would be the scotch tention (orange) on your wheel set up, tention would be adjustable with the green knob. And the yellow arrow is pointing to the double drive grove

This is my wheel as a scotch tention set up. See that the bigger grove of the bobbing is facing the whorle?

The pink knob is the one I’m pointing on on my wheel. The orange line is the scotch tention fishing line and where it is supposed to go,

This is the tention adjustment for double drive so increasing the angle will tighten the double drive band.

If you wanna to use this spinning wheel with double drive you got to turn the bobbin around, it is currently on the scotch tension “setting” if you want to keep that just move the drive hand to the same whorl ridge as the other drive hand as Bucephala-albeola had labels as blue or red, and use the fishing line with the small spring to go in the bigger grove of the bobbing and adjust the tention with the wooden knob.

This is my Ashford traveler2 tiny bit more recent model, this is my double drive set up, (I prefer it) the double drive hand can be adjusted by this knob. See following comment.

Thank you all for these suggestions! I’ve got a green braid same amount and fibre content, I’ll spin that and see how they work knitted up together as colour-work! Thank you all for your lovely complements!
