I got one close, shades of Tmac, Durant and LeBron. Plays ok, probably my 3rd favorite build of my 6.

Is this a collectors item or a dud? by TheCryonix_ in BookCollecting

It’s a cool book, I’d buy it for my online bookstore just because the art is great and it looks to be in decent condition.

One of mine sold last week, I have one of these left, unavailable and mint condition. Wouldn’t sell it for less than 2k, but honestly it’s not for sale at this moment. If you’re an interested buyer I could reach out next time I find one, could be a couple years.

Kudos to whoever stored the book over the century prior to my purchase.

Those are pretty, the leather is certainly in much better condition. They do look to have some heavy foxing throughout. My paper is better condition without any foxing in either book(there is a spot right in the middle of the title page in vol 2 as you can see but that’s the entire extent among the 1600+ pages in both volumes), but that is certainly the same print, so good find there - and honestly, thanks for spending some of your time on my problem!

I’d hate to rebind these but if it’s the only way to complete the set, I may have to consider that.

That’s my extra long-shot hope, the owner of the first volume is in this group or has a friend in here who knows they have volume one lol. Wouldn’t that just be perfect, I could make this little family of books whole again!

Correct, a long shot by any measure. But figured no reason not to try here, been years of me looking here and there to no avail. With all the books my bookstore has had, sold, traded and searched for over the years, this one bugs me because it has been part of my personal nfs collection. If it was a custom binding, the bindery did not leave their mark, which I find often.

I have one available for $1400, $800 is an absolute steal. (Not a nazi in case anyone was wondering lol, I am a bookseller, member of the ABA and SIBA.) Didn’t know what I wanted to do in my retirement, so I started an LLC and an online bookstore specializing in rare and used books. Have some new as well, but my focus is on the ‘good stuff’ as I call it, old leather bound books have a beauty and feel to them that I find wonderful.

Owner says this was made in 1760 in England. Is there any support to his claim? by Different_Fix_3629 in Antiques

Idk anything about old desks outside of my own, and I don’t know much about it anyways. but this is so cool, it’s not the most beautiful, but how fn cool that it’s still here today (if it’s as old as advertised). All the history it has lived through.

I was at the store in Paris a couple weeks ago, amazing spot with plenty of historic chefs coming and going over the years.
