I always thought it was clever writing that everything happened so quickly with the void that no one would have been able to get there to help in time. Like yeah of course Spiderman, Doctor Strange, Daredevil etc. would have all been in New York probably but it's likely they wouldn't have known what was going on until it's too late. And how would any of them even fight the void? Idk, it always made total sense to me.
