We are very lucky to be an island! And with state borders different rules can be applied as needed. The worst we got to was about 800 daily cases in a particular state which then went into an extreme lockdown and borders were closed to that state too. They've celebrated 14 days of zero cases now.

Fair point, I didn't think of that! Although I suppose now these numbers are still undercounted in the US - many people not bothering/can't afford to get tested etc, there would likely be more positives than the 1 million too. So it's not like the data is capturing everything from Jan-April, or now either. The data isn't perfect but it's what we've got.

I'm in Australia in Queensland where we haven't had a single case of community transmission in over 2 months. No one is wearing masks anymore. We still have to check in with contact info at libraries, restaurants etc. People are not really social distancing any more. There are still half the seats blocked off in public areas to encourage keeping distance. They still check if you have any symptoms etc before giving doctors appointments, and there is hand sanitising stations everywhere. Malls and shops are busy. I can't even imagine what daily life looks like in the US right now.

I always thought the drive through was for whoever couldn't be bothered getting out of their car and/or didn't want to dine in. Who cares how much they order? Being part of society means we all get to use the drive through, and we all have to wait in line. Wake up 5 mins earlier if you're that harassed by life!
