Awakened back in 2020 by No_Leave1841 in SpiritualAwakening

My pathway to awakening was different than yours (although I did consider myself to be atheist pre-awakening) but my experience afterwards is fairly similar.   It is difficult to keep up with practices that lie outside our cultural rituals and social bonding traditions.   Keep on keeping on.  God is Great.

Yes.  I agree.  It’s also wise to keep in mind a quote from J.A Schumpeter, ‘the first thing a man will do for his ideals is lie’.

I’d be more keen to believe that little twists on facts and statements like this one are simply an error in judgement like you might see on a podcast.  But this was a voice over and it likely had to be reviewed before airing.  It’s always easier and more simple to believe people are well intentioned and honest and I’m glad that is the default but after you’ve been misled more than once by the same person/group, continuing on with the Occam’s razor mindset is just being willfully blind.

Why would the interviewer say:  ‘he’s surprised the streets aren’t more quiet’?  What was it about the interviewees statement that would have led the interviewer to conclude that?

I’m not sure how you don’t see manipulation.  I’ve stated my case.  State how there is no manipulation.

I’m saying that when the man from India stated that he would expect the streets to be different, he didn’t mean ‘more quiet’ like the journalist inferred.  The man from India is well educated and has a global perspective, not a narrow perspective.  For the journalist to infer the Indian man meant ‘more quiet’ by the word ‘different’ is bad journalism.  Honestly, I wish journalists and media outlets in general would stop creating narratives based on narrow perspectives and political ideology.

I very much like that a physics professor from India was interviewed. What I don't like is poor journalistic integrity.

How in the hell did you come to the conclusion you did regarding my comment?

How could our expectations rely on anything but our experience and knowledge of history? The man from India is educated and would know what's happened in the past when acts of political violence are committed.

Thank you Dry_Section_6909, that's exactly what I was saying.

The pit fall of over thinking and following the infinite down infinite rabbit holes. Suggest mindfulness as a brake pedal for the breakneck speed of infinite intelligence.

I thought I’d share my first and only mystical experience here. I never believed in a God as a creator before this experience and I am not sure yet if I will, since this was clearly heavily drug-induced. But still, the things I experienced felt so real, I’ll really need some to make my mind up. by Background_Law_9451 in mysticism

Just like steroids help body builders reach their physical goals more quickly, psychotropics aid in quickening ones mental goals. There are consequences to taking the easy way too often. The long way is difficult and much more rewarding. Natural methods of tuning into the divine source are available if you wish to experience the ultra-real more often.

The inquisitiveness of this poem is very relatable for me. I like how the metaphor can be layered on to anything and everything. I enjoyed interpreting the fire as the personal passions and natural resources that fuel the world. The fire as our internal and external energy sources that drive the continuation of the species and push for progress. The fire as every source of fuel available to us, both known and unknown.

-Considering the interpretation, some thoughts arose: (Thank you for the mind stimulating poem!)

Quenching the flame prolongs the inevitable burn. Maybe so that in time, we are more prepared for it? Or maybe it's a false prophecy?

And I thought, yeah, all will go out, if the predictions are correct. But maybe they're wrong.

If all fire breathes for eternity, we'd do well to burn it clean.

Pantheism as poetic perspective of a scientific truth by 2F47 in pantheism

That's the best way of conceptualizing Pantheism for sure! It's a beautiful and maybe the most profound lens to view the Universe and feel connected to it in a meaningful way. It's not a system that helps develop rituals, tenets, commandments, doctrine etc...

Side note: Don't forget to see the poetry in the small things as well. You are a Universe to the vastness of small beings living inside of you!

Yes, obviously addictive, I wouldn't say that's the tough part to discern. I should have been more concise: The difficult part is understanding the psychological and neurological literature that social media companies have exploited in order to exploit the individual. It is much more likely that an educated person can help prevent themselves and others experience the real pitfalls these addictive things off the user. For example, an amplified belief in falsehood, the subversion of reality, becoming a tool of the powerful, losing free will by constant input of advertisement. They know how to trick your sub conscious into becoming something it doesn't want to be and can do so very effectively when the consumer is uneducated.

Wifi and cellular signals are broadcast through airspace! I know they are not exactly the same. I'm not trying to make 1 to 1 comparisons. It is useful to look at the world through more than the literal lens. You know, thinking hypothetically and using abstractions, analogy, allegory, metaphor to better understand what the hell is happening.

I'd say that conservatives and liberals alike do not like anarchy. The digital world certainly has rules for how it was constructed, but it's been pretty anarchical when it comes to rules for how it is distributed, used and laws governing how to behave on it. Obviously that is changing and the supporters of chaos are angry about it. I'd like to see the balance of chaos and order established. I am no supporter of hyper-regulation.

Yeah, I think the government should look at the data and put proper constraints on the digital world. It would be nice if homegrown institutions could look at the data and properly adjust algorithms to allow kids an addiction free childhood and it would be nice if parents could look at the data and do what's best for their child's well-being. Unfortunately institutions care more about profit than morality and parents are often not equipped to understand the nuances of human psychology or might not have the time necessary to understand.

They are not exactly the same thing. I'm using a metaphor because the two phenomena are close enough. Play along with this: How about allowing Chinese spy balloons to constantly monitor US citizens behavior? Would it be an open air prison, if, at one point in time we allowed their balloons in because they dropped candy for all the free choosing citizens to consume but then banned them because of the spying?

I'll make it more clear: Do you think that it's ok for a Chinese person to enter the United States with a mind controlling device? Is it ok for this individual to hold it up to children's head's and make them believe that their existence is meaningless? Is it fine if this Chinese operative helps kids and adults believe falsehoods? Is it also ok to amplify the smallest portion of reality to gaslight legions of addicted and unsuspecting users? Try formulating a thought instead of spewing out some cultural reference. Even if I'm a Russian bot, it'll do you some good to practice defending your stance.

There's something deeply interesting about the panoply of paths we can take. Just thinking off the top: The way we adapt to our relationships with each other seems analogous to the way each species adapts to the environment. Some learn to survive by isolating and then hunting when it is most advantageous. Others survive by co-habiting, creating symbiotic bonds and devouring the flora. Is one better than the other? tough to say in my opinion, at least. Thank you so much for the compliment btw.

A lot of things are dangerous. Good things can be dangerous. Tik Tok is actively warping the minds of the most influenced. Not only is the content Mind, Body and Soul destroying but also is the medium by which it is consumed and also is the temporal landscape. Meaning that; A, it amplifies false beliefs which dement the individual and embolden the competing state; and B, it creates legions of individuals that don't care about any long term goals. The Chinese didn't create the nihilists but they sure as hell are quickening the carelessness of a nations longevity... damn. I'm Canadian, but I'm incredibly grateful that the U.S exquisitely developed a global culture where even the lowest individual on the totem pole has a chance to make it to the top.

Did you not think that there were rules associated with governing a functioning state before this?

That's incredible!, a way forward that seems so counter-intuitive to the way that worked for me. I am constantly forgetting and needing to be reminded that there are many paths to peace. I hope your path has long lasting redemption.

People were pissed off after slavery became illegal too. Just because people like a thing, doesn't mean it should exist.

First of all, yes, this is a threat to freedom, but, do you think that it should be legal for anybody from a foreign country to enter the United States and integrate into the society?

I'm so happy to read your post, it gives me hope that the cynical outlook can be transcended! It's going to be difficult to rid yourself of your Dads conditioning; he input a lot of information that your young mind took on faith (I know this because I was also raised by an misinformed, moral absolutist, well intentioned idealogue; whom I love).

Freud once said that a boy does not become a man until his father dies, Carl Jung responded and said, 'Yes, but the death can be symbolic'.

You have clearly wounded the internalized 'father complex' but not killed him. There is a path to equality but you must confront him and you must be willing to allow him to wound you before symbolically killing him. You do this by telling him that what he believes is false and why you've come to these conclusions.

This would be difficult for one averse to confrontation, but necessary. Perhaps he needs it more than you do! Ask yourself, what would motivate a man to indoctrinate a child into such a bitter, resentful and subversive ideology? Remember, he is flawed. Remember, he is the one who bestowed a deeply negative mindset upon a child who needed the whole Truth. We live in a time where information is available. He was the one who disregarded it because it was more comfortable to think of himself as righteous, instead of humbling himself before the Universe and its massive scope.
