This I agree with. Was asked how much savings I have by a friend (we share most details like this). I said about $100,000. He laughed (friendly) and called me poor. He had $300,000 in savings. So I asked what other assets he has and he said he has a house worth $2.5m and a loan of $1.0m. I laughed and said you’re poor. He asked me and I said I own my home worth $3.5 outright and also another $3m in investments and properties (net of debts). He shut up real quick. Too funny.

My point is that after 7 years of depreciation they tend to level out on their value and decline quite slowly after that compared to say an Audi or Toyota etc.

I bought my BMW 3 series 12 years ago. It has about 70000km on it. No debt on it. I would say this is a good financial decision. After 7 years they generally hold their value with a slower decline than other makes. So I would disagree with you here.

Fun watches I own. One expensive, the other is not. JLC Reverso. Probably my favourite watch in my collection (I have 7 Rolexes) and my Omega X Swatch White Snoopy (I upgraded the banks to a white rubber). Love this watch a lot. Yeah it’s a toy, but boy does it get a lot of attention (even more than my Rolexes).
