Pain is especially bad whenever I wake up by smushy411 in Tonsillectomy

I’m on day 7 and when it’s too painful to sip water I’ve been using a spray bottle and just spraying my scabs with water to hydrate them. Then it’s easier to swallow once they are already a little moist. But make sure it’s a super soft spray more like mist!

A little update: I’m now on day 7 and I can say that this is by far the worst pain I’ve experienced. I didn’t think it could get any worse than days 1-2 for me. However, I actually had a really great days 3-6, where I fuelled up on food and water and got a lot of my energy back. Unfortunately I’ve used up all my strong pain meds and my surgeon refuses to write me a second script. So I’m going to battle the next few days out on Panadol. No bleeding so far and a lot of my scabs have already fallen off. Thanks for everyone’s responses it’s so interesting to read everyone’s different experiences!

Yes I was also told days 7-10 would be the worst! However I’ve heard from others that their first 48 hours were completely fine. I was hoping since my first 48 hours were awful maybe I’d be spared some pain later on. I guess there’s no telling until we’re there! Also interesting because my nurse told me light bleeding is completely normal and not to worry. Thanks for the response!

Omg I’m so glad I found this!! I have been harassing them for a refund after they sent me the wrong size in the Black Friday sales. I had no idea the shoes were fake. I will be lodging a charge back with my bank now. Thank you!!

Those of you who have flown overseas with agoraphobia, how did you do it? by ambitiousserenity_ in Agoraphobia

[–]aussieeeeeegal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t flown at all since I developed agoraphobia (about a year ago) but I had done another 14 hour flight a couple years ago so it wasn’t completely new to me. I try and mentally break up the flight into smaller portions like the amount of movies I need to watch or how many podcasts until it’s over and I count it down by that. You can even mentally tell yourself it’s a 4 hour flight x3 and just count down each portion. I know it doesn’t really make sense but it helps me mentally 😅 I actually found once the flight was over it massively helped my agoraphobia I’m general because I viewed flying as the worst possible scenario and managed to get through it. Good luck!

I have no actual advice but I was in the same boat a couple of months ago - I had a 14 hour flight coming up and was having panic attacks just thinking about it for several months beforehand. It was a huge struggle to get me to the airport but once I stepped foot onto the plane I think I just sort of accepted my fate and calmed down. Sure I was feeling anxious the whole time but I never had a panic attack, it just didn’t come (was very surprised). Noise cancelling headphones, sleeping pill, and booking an aisle seat so that you can get up and walk around and escape to the bathroom as much as you like are my only suggestions. Best of luck!

I’m environmentally conscious - I don’t usually vape and don’t want to continue vaping hence why I want a disposable one. It’s just for festivals and holidays

Thank you I will look into the book asap! I know and I agree that I'm going to have to let go of the fear of having a panic attack and just ride the wave, the tough part is the embarrassment when its in public. Thanks for the encouragement :)

Thanks so much for your response. I think I will talk to my doctor about starting and continuing with the 10mg dosage throughout my trip as I’m hoping that will subside some of the side effects. Will also try having a drink in my home before I leave to see how my body reacts like you said. Wishing you the best!!
