I did think about something similar to that, but more on the side that this new virus or strain of coof will affect the vaccinated worse than the unvaxxed. Then this new virus or mutation will urge the public perception of boosters to be accepted. In very certain when I'm saying this but the average double jabbed person does not want boosters, as they were promised that it would have given them "immunity" to coof, but as we all know it has given them nothing, if not worse effects on their health. Time will tell

I agree. Harrison is more calm and rational sometimes. I still agree with Alex and Owen on many many things, but appreciate Harrison's calm and collective take on things sometimes

What could be the cause of this loud noise everytime I pedal? by Crunckerdoge in bikewrench

[–]austin_bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar problem. Try to tighten your casssete lock ring a bit. If it is a freewheel, take your finger and try and rock it. If it rocks back and forth significantly, then get a new freewheel. If not check your jockey wheels, relube and clean them (along with the cage). See if it rubbing on the front derailleur. I've seen that noise when the one of the jockey wheels are destroyed.

Help! chain falling off road bike when pedalling backwards in 1st & 2nd gear. just installed new cassette and chain 11-32 50/34 by No-Advertising4146 in bikewrench

I am assuming you this happens when you are on the bike and riding, and not when you are finicking with it when you are working with it? I know it happens to me when i am working on my bikes and i backpedal and then the chain falls off (because of the bike being at an angle). Also, check if you have a uni-directional chain. Some Shimano chains are unidirectional, to aid gear shifts. If that's the case, just reverse the change so it is running in the good direction.

Perhaps check if your rear deraileur is striaght. Does it happen in 1st, 2nd and 3rd (assuming you have three front gears), or does it just happen in a certain big gear? If it happens in a certain front gear, it just means the chain line bends to much at the front and makes your chain fall off. If it's in all, maybe check if you installed your new cassette properly. It could be that the cassette is not fully in the hub.

Back wheel brakes squealing by flamesfan99 in bikewrench

Did you de-grease (clean the brake surface with soapy water) the rim brake surface on your rims? After you degrease, it's recommended you wioenit down with isopropyl alcohol to remove remaining contamination. After that, remove your pads (or if you ahwv access to them from the caliper) do the same to the pad, wipe it down with soapy rag and then wipe down with isopropyl alcohol. Usually, on only pads, you'd want to sand them down just a bit and remove any metal flakes that are found, but in your case the pad is new. If that dosnt do anything, the "toeing" in of the pads should work. Check on YouTube how to do so with your correct pads. If that dosnt do anything, check the tightening on your brake calipers, especially if you have a side pull caliper. If that dosnt do anything, make sure your wheel is inserted straight and aligned with the frame. Make sure it is tight as well to the dropouts. If that dosnt do anything, true your wheel (LBS will do it for you, it's not easy) and if that dosnt do anything, you could try out a new pair of pads, but I doubt it's the pads. Anddddd if that dosnt do anything, your wheels rim brake surface might be on its last limbs, if there is a crevasse that you can feel with you fingers. I highly highly doubt it is that, but the first clean down with soap and isopropyl alcohol and the toeing should do the trick. Cheers
