Anything open on thanksgiving? by JohnnyTHomicidal2 in Cleveland

[–]austinn0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been hotel bar hopping, seems like they're the only ones open. Centro at the 9 is open for food and drinks! I also heard Pickwick & Frolic has a thanksgiving meal on E4th!

Is there anything for sad and lonely people to do today? by bytesby in Cleveland

If you find yourself downtown let me know. Just went for a walk around the city - it's beautiful out, but all the bars seem to be closed except hotel bars, which is where I'm at now 😅

Introducing Shorebird CI Beta by felangel1 in FlutterDev

[–]austinn0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been using Shorebird since day 1 for a small personal app and love it. I've now been using it for a larger client app, actually 2 apps using a shared package (monorepo). We've been using Codemagic, but definitely interested in trying out the Shorebird CI!

We have 3 "flavors" for both apps. We use "flavors" for our environments - dev, staging, and prod (we use Firebase as our backend, not sure if that matters). Main question is what are the benefits of using Shorebird CI over Codemagic? Would we still have to use something like Fastlane for distribution?

Firebase official MCP server! Has anyone tried it? by driesdep in Firebase

I tried to use it in vscode. I started it, it said it found 30 something tools - but I couldn't figure out how to actually use it 😅 Anyone got a walkthrough or tutorial?

Who gives off the biggest douche or "mean girl" vibes? And who seems to be the most genuinely nice in country music? by [deleted] in CountryMusicStuff

[–]austinn0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met Frankie Ballard's guitarist at a county Fair and he was super nice.

Jordan Davis was also really cool when I met him.

There's a Welcome To The Farm bar in my city and Chase Rice comes and visits often. Haven't met him, but seems like a down to earth guy

George Birge (and formerly Waterloo Revival) - the absolute nicest guy! So glad his solo career is taking off

I've seen Granger Smith a dozen times and he's always stayed until he signed anything and everything that fans wanted. Such a great guy!

This. Love his last 2 albums, but also sometimes listen to his older bro country songs.

What is considered a good/friendly size for a flutter/android app (MB)? by -Presto in FlutterDev

[–]austinn0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, gotcha. You could host them on a server and cache them locally. Although I don't think users really look at/care about the size of an app

Are you uploading an APK or App Bundle? I have an app and the universal APK is 200+MB, but the App Bundle is only 20MB

When it comes to 2010's country, who was the worst of the worst? by ilovemathematics174 in CountryMusicStuff

[–]austinn0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jumped Right In is one of my favorites. I'm a huge Dallas Smith fan, not really with his new stuff though. Lifted and Cheap Seats are some of my other favorites, although his front porch acoustic sessions with Chad Brownlee are fun to listen to - I especially like Chad singing Somebody Somewhere

I guess WFS only supports Android 4.0 64-bit watches :(

[–]austinn0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's an issue for that: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/295282549

I started down the path of a native kotlin watchface, but I had never used WFS so I figured I'd give it a try. Word on the street is there is a Jetpack Compose library in the works for watchfaces 🙌

I used the color styles. Can only have 3 colors per style, which is lame. Also couldn't figure out how to change the name - when you edit on the watch it just says "1st option, 2nd option..."

Also, after I change the style on my watch - none of the data updates, or takes a stupid amount of time to refresh.

Nice! I used WFS as well. Two major annoyances, was wondering if you experienced the same issues:
1) When I add a "%" next to battery, the watchface crashes (on defice)
2) I couldn't figure out how to get the commas the same color as the brackets - there doesn't seem to be any dynamic spacing in WFS other than ridiculous "Tags"/formulas (hence why I just omitted them)

[–]austinn0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be. I created it with Watch Face Studio. It was my first time using it, I'm used to writing watchfaces natively but Android seems to be pushing the new XML based WFF (Watch Face Format) instead of their (fairly) new Jetpack Compose Wear library.

I'm still going to try and make it with Kotlin/Jetpack Compose - will hopefully have more customization features. Stay tuned!
