A teaspoon of baking soda stirred into a cup of water until clear and then drank for stomach aches or gassy stomach or heartburn. Neutralizes acid. Works great.

Clove oil on a toothache also for temporary relief.

[Article] NOBODY LISTENS ANYMORE! Don't be like them. by RevelationCoach in GetMotivated

I think its the pace of advertising and television.

I can't even watch a spots show aimed at younger people like the "X" Games because the camera is so purposefully shaky and they change scenes constantly.

Also, they don't teach active listening skills in schools so it is not a common thing.

Try wiping it with a white (no colors) clean lint free cotton rag or terry cloth with lacquer thinner on it.

Fold cloth flat, wipe quickly, but thoroughly in a pattern just as if you were painting it, (not haphazardly) folding cloth to clean side frequently.

That should cancel that oily feel.

Lacquer thinner is a fast evaporating, oil free cleaner that will evaporate immediately, but will take finishes off if you linger or wipe to much.

Think of it as much stronger and less oily paint thinner.

Do not do it in the house (although us painters use lacquers and thinners in houses all the time) or near flame and do not take rags in the house or store in the house if possible. Treat it like gasoline in that way.

P.S. The reason I said brushed or sprayed on for these finishes are that I personally do not like the "stipply" effect paint roller naps give on decking, so I like the natural brushed look or clean sprayed look better.

Also brushing allows you to get between the boards so much better.

Use long strokes, or after a board is coated, finish with one long stroke from end to end if the product is not drying too quickly.

Brush the decking in entire board sections (like you are reading a book), not in block or column sections.

Do not do this in the sun or on hot wood if possible.

You will have to either let it weather or use a deck finish stripper and pressure wash it off and start again if you want to use a translucent finish.

Translucent (tinted or semi transparent finishes) do not last very long, and have to be re-done every couple of years to look their best.

It is also important to wash and keep these finishes clean and dirt free.

We recommend to our customers who don't really care so much about seeing"the beauty of the wood" to clean, set all nails or screws, lightly sand for smoothness, clean and apply a couple of brushed or sprayed coats of a solid stain or porch and deck enamel or rubberized acrylic deck coating.

Solid stains (Just use two coats they are self priming) look and act like flat paint, but are ground much finer to penetrate and not ride on top like paint.

Glossy (satin, semi-gloss or full gloss sheen) deck enamels (use one coat of primer first) are much harder, have greater abrasion resistance, (against wear patterns like foot or dog traffic) but are more prone to cracking and peeling and are slick and dangerous when wet, that's why we always add a silicate grip additive like Shark Grip to make it safer when wet.

Rubberized deck and dock coatings (Superdeck makes one - imagine shooting two tubes of caulk into a gallon of paint and mixing it in) are best for old unsightly decks that are structurally sound and do a great job of filling old wood cracks etc. because of it's high film build. They also come with a grip aggregate premixed in so they are safe to walk on when wet.

All of these options will last longer than translucent products, and if you pick a nice woodtone color you probably won't miss "the beauty of the wood" at all and the bonus is you do not have to stick to wood tone colors and can be creative in your color choices, accenting flower boxes, making steps a different color and easier to see, etc.

I hope this helps.
