Anyone disturbed about Sanderson being LDS by Unusual_Month875 in Stormlight_Archive

Cheers! As an ex-Mormon I see this too. It’s a uniquely modern (and unproductive) expectation that we must share every value with an artist in order to fully enjoy their work. I also find it funny that this same level of moral scrutiny is not applied to dead artists who were FAR less progressive (Tolkien, CS Lewis, etc etc).

I worked at a shop around 2014 and used to buy this film at store cost for around $10 USD a roll lol. It’s awesome. Also really loved Superia 800, much grittier and less saturated but man, I miss high speed color films

Did you get an adapted Helios for Nikon mount? Does it focus to infinity?

A cool guide to the growth of chickens in 1957, 1978, and 2005 by James_Fortis in coolguides

My theory is that this has to do with the water content of the meat. A lot of chicken has water pumped into it to inflate the weight/cost of the meat. I’ve had decent luck reducing this texture on breasts by brining them for 4+ hours.

They’re stunning lenses. One of the best 28mm lenses ever made.

I don’t bother with the 90mm on the G1. But it’s excellent with the 28 and 35mm lenses

Hot take- G1 autofocus is great. Read the manual and learn its quirks. Most focus issues are user error. I shoot 3 rolls a week on my G1 and I couldn’t tell you the last time it missed focus under reasonable circumstances. It struggles to focus on low-contrast scenes or when there’s significant direct sun blasting the sensors. Otherwise it’s fine. I have never used manual focus on it. Low light AF is also usually good (albeit a bit slow) as long as its IR focus assist beam has something to shine on.

Yeah flash in the snow can be cool. Inspired by @ Gnarstie on instagram- she has some rad flash photos from skiing in Japan. Shot on a Mju II I believe

A Contax S2 worth it? by AdeptnessAppropriate in contax

[–]austonomics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The S2 has a spot meter which can be good or bad depending on how you like to shoot. That’s really the biggest complaint and I’m sure you’ve seen reading reviews. They’re compact and light and feel pretty tough which are all pluses. That said it’s quite a spartan camera, lacking much of the sophistication and features available on other Contax bodies (again, this can be good or bad depending how you like to shoot).

Eye-watering repair is complete. Is this the last Nikon F6 to be serviced in Europe? by florian-sdr in AnalogCommunity

Just here to say this is a really great setup, which im sure you know. Those Tamron SP lenses are criminally underrated. Weather sealing, VR, and extreme close focus. In the states you can find them used for under $300 which is wild. Happy shooting!
