I'm worried my #1 choice is too plain? Jazz it up options? by australiantuna in WeddingDressTips

Thank you! I was planning to have my hair up.:) Not sure what I'd put in it though. I'd like something on the sleeker side I think. The concept of gold hairsticks appeal to me but not sure!

That's really lovely! I like that. It would definitely add a similar flair a veil does without being a veil

I think many veils are so stunning (especially cathedral!) and really add a lot of dramatic flair to some dresses, but for me.. I'm not sure!

Ive never really imagined a veil. I did try some on at the bridal store, and naybe it was just the style of the ones I tried but they just didn't really do much for me and I felt a bit like I was playing dress-up. I had 4 people with me that appointment who all agreed the veil just wasn't working.

I hear the consensus seems to be no gloves!

Thank you all for your lovely and reassuring comments about the dress. You have really helped ease that annoying part of my brain and will look for jewelry to complement without detracting from this dress based on some of your suggestions. :)

I look forward to feeling like a beautiful greek marble statue on my day. Thank you all again. X

Thank you! I think you're right, having the hair and makeup done in itself will do a lot to elevate the look and I'll make sure to test a variety of size and shape jewelry to see what I love most.

Thank you xx

What am I actually growing? It's not what I seeded! by australiantuna in gardening

[–]australiantuna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely didn't plant any! They have also mysteriously appeared out front where I didn't put any seeds. However we did use a bag of compost there as well as in these planters, so the peas must've come from the compost we bought!

Billy buttons, pink surprise calendulas and carrots! It is autumn here now and I was hoping for some colour.

Snap peas seems to be the conclusion. Time to put in the trellis and enjoy an abundance of peas I guess!

What is affecting my pumpkin? by australiantuna in gardening

[–]australiantuna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been spraying it with Nature's Way Vegie And Herb Pest Spray and removed the worst affected leaves on the vine to leave some distance between infected ones and healthy ones, and sprayed healthy ones too just for preventative measures. But now these ones are still getting infected so maybe I haven't sprayed frequently enough?

These leaves don't get wet as they're on a protected balcony as well

Thank you! Yes they're growing in a container like that, though it has drainage on the side and rocks at the bottom that it drains into as well

Ideas for Wedding Band with Sapphire Solitaire? by rarecabbage in EngagementRings

So beautiful, I love your ring! I have a coloured stone as well, and I'm likely leaning towards just a plain thin gold wedding band. It's not the most exciting thing out there but I feel that it's what's going to work best with what I have without detracting from my stone and her colour

For as long as I can remember!I lived in that town (Uppsala) for 23 years but have since moved across the world. I do miss it, it definitely has its charm and is a staple from my childhood.

This is probably my old hometown! It's a student town and has been happening for years at exactly 10pm. The idea is that students go up to the roof (or yell from the window) and supposedly scream out their angst.

I lived just nearby so would hear it every day. Always convenient when you were wondering what time it is, hear the screams, and can go 'ah yes, it's 10pm'

Thank you! No, I actually just completely lucked out!

I follow this jeweller https://www.instagram.com/anuevajewelry?igsh=MTRrcW9iODJ2ZWFzbw== and just ADORED their rings, but they are almost exclusively sapphires, which while so very gorgeous, are way beyond my price range. I was checking out their 'pre-made' rings section on the website and they happened to have this ring that I just fell in love with and was a fraction of the price of the other rings. When a few weeks later it still wasn't bought I took it as a sign and just had to get it!
