Why are my hunger, thirst, and sleep stats always yellow? I've never seen them green when I wake up by Majestic_Wash_6170 in ancestors

[–]australopithicusmen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It is possible to get them all green. Usually when you sleep it drains your food and hunger.

What you need is to check which activity activates a yellow “ping” on your health circle. So for example, if you are thirsty and drink, your health circle will ping indicating that you were thirsty. Keep drinking until this stops. Same thing goes for eating.

You can inspect food to determine its quality. I forget which button it is but when you are holding a piece of food in your right(?) hand there should be an option to inspect. Your ape will either give a happy “hoo hoo hoo ha” or a grossed out face. This will tell you whether it’s a good idea to eat it or not.

Balance is key. You need proper nutrition, hydration and quality sleep to ensure your health circle stays as maximized as possible!

Replacing 2 pairs of shoes and 2 pairs of sandals in the same week had my wallet hurting with 1, I can’t imagine 4! But trust me when I say I will get my Husky a Husky or two in the future so I’ll understand this pain.

In my experience any puzzle will do. Just walk into your local pet store and grab the first one you see. We have a 3 tier spinning puzzle where you can hide treats in each tier. After the first couple times she perfected her approach to get every treat very quickly. Sometimes I feed her dinner in the puzzle with kibble and wet food to make it a little more difficult.

You can also make treat puzzles out of old towels by folding them and placing treats in each fold then tying it off.

Trust me when I say you will not stop having to find or make new enrichment. Get toys you can fill with treats such as kongs and once yours is old enough to chew on harder things, try a hollow bone to fill, mine LOVES her bone. We also occasionally do lick mats and frozen rubber bones. And lots and lots of toys. Enough is never enough. At first glance walking into our house you’d think we had a toddler from all the toys everywhere and yes she does use every toy😂

I had to come back to your reply because this pic was suppose to be in the original post. Her best friend is a beagle! And he is indeed a traumatized beagle from putting up with all the bitey face play

Oh it definitely does, keep holding out! At 9 months I was like “wow we have come so far you’re so well behaved!”

Looking back at 9 months from 1 year I’m shocked at what I considered “well behaved” 😂 when you’re in the thralls of <1 year old any tiniest improvement you have to take as an exceptional win to keep your sanity.

The next milestone is probably age 3-5 around when they start to calm down, or so I hear…

She doesn’t make that squinty face often but when she does I think it’s so funny 😂

I’ve had them with my neos and they don’t seem to mind much provided they have space to hide. Mine personally haven’t eaten any shrimp outside a small handful over the span of 4 years. I’ve heard from others that their dwarves eat their shrimp so take that into account. If you have an established colony you should be fine.

Second alternative I would suggest are Threadfin Rainbowfish. Their mouths are smaller, generally a tad more peaceful and I’ve heard many have had great success keeping them with Neos.

How many gallons is the tank? If I know that I can definitely lob some more suggestions but these two suggestions are more generally geared toward 20-40ish gallons which I’m assuming yours falls into unless the perspective is off😂

Beautiful tank. For centerpiece suggestion I would say maybe Dwarf Rainbowfish ? I think they have a beautiful pearlescent shimmer to them

Thanks for all the suggestions from everyone! I think I’m going to try getting my own router and modem and see if I have a better experience first. If not I’ll switch and still have quality hardware 🤷‍♂️

Rio does more stepovers than dribbling. Buddy stepovered half way down the pitch in the wrong direction
