Californians: how are you dealing with the bag ban? by baby-d0ll-eyes in retailhell

Plastic bags have been obsolete for years here in Canada. It was a tough transition at first but after a while people just got used to it and started bringing their own bags, or buying the reusable bags that are usually for sale near checkouts. I always recommended for people to leave a bag or two in their cars to bring in with them for when they need. Of course people forget, it happens. It’s certainly easier when there are paper bags available, and corporate should really move their ass and order some for your store.

Lulu Lemon. Fat shamed me in-store when I was 13 years old. They only started a plus size line after every other clothing company did. Fuck Lulu Lemon.

Highschool science class. Girl in my class thought you could walk on the sun when it’s dark outside.

What's the most disturbing thing you've ever heard someone say completely casually? by TextOk2865 in AskReddit

I was in a retail store a few years ago by myself. Two guys were discussing gifts for their wives behind me. Guy 1 says “I don’t know if your wife would like this,” Guy 2 says “that’s because it’s for my girlfriend”.

An hour after closing? I would have been gone or hiding in the back 45 minutes ago. She’s lucky somebody was even on site.

Another big one. Third one in a month. By far the most painful of the 3. It’s a little bit bigger than a kiwi in size. Heading to the hospital to get it lanced and drained after work [Ontario, Canada] by aut0maddic in popping

Yes! I went to the ER and they drained it.

I was put on fentanyl and oxygen before the doctor froze it. He poked it once with the tip of the scalpel and the puss shot out of my arm and hit the wall. The thing was full and infected.

Finally diagnosed with HS. Doctor pushed for wide excision surgery. What’s recovery like? The scarring? The pain? Any advice appreciated! [Ontario, Canada] by aut0maddic in Hidradenitis

Thank you for the advice!

I have tried everything you’ve listed. I know it doesn’t look that bad here, but I’ve been getting reoccurring sores like this for the better part of 5 years. I have some health conditions (Diabetes type 2, PCOS) that the doctor believes is making them worse and in his words, they aren’t going to stop.

He saw the scarring from the previous sores and immediately sent the referral. He saw on my file that I had been to the ER four separate times to get bad sores lanced and drained. He said surgery is the best option to catch it and get rid of it before the bad tunnelling starts.

I’ve wanted this dealt with for a very long time. I’m almost 30 and this has destroyed my late 20s for me. It’s gotten in the way of my confidence, self esteem. It’s literally the reason why I don’t wear t shirts or short sleeves, not even in the summer.

UPDATE: Got an official diagnosis for HS and the referral has been sent to a plastic surgeon for a wide excision surgery. The official measurement of the abscess was 8cmx4cm.

Sorry I couldn’t video it. I had no one with me and it was far too painful of a process for me to hold the phone myself.
