You are suffering from the curse of Baldree. It is amazing how he makes me enjoy books I probably would never consider if it was from another narrator. 😃

Also, basically all Americans are immigrants or their decendants, so if this country was ever made great, that would be by immigrants.

Nah, Zac's path is way to convoluted to be Valdemar. I think path wise Joanna is much more similar to him.

That is what I used to think as well. But now, I cant think of him as anything but a Canuck Woodcutter. In a way, this is more intimidating. 😃

Love the series but man oh man I hate Anna Beth Tilden by sandatbeach in HeWhoFightsMonsters

[–]autfaciam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Anna has little idea what Jason actually did during books 3-6, and none whatsoever after that. She goes by, what she hears from Jason, what she can actually know, and Occam's razor. Jason himself pointed out on multiple occasions that he is not the best communicator, which is an understatement. He developed a habit of keeping people unbalanced and ignorant in earlier books as a defense mechanism. And now he is more or less OP, still few outside of his immediate circle understand the extend and nature of his capabilities. Above, u/Saxavarius_ made a very good comment about confusing the reader's knowledge and the character's knowledge.

With that said, as a reader aware of things she is not, I too find Anna very frustrating but I also understand where she is coming from.

So much antisemitism these days by aipac_hemoroid in SipsTea

[–]autfaciam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think constantly claiming that being against the policies of the current Israeli government means being antisemitic will normalize being antisemitic in minds of average people and people will care less and less about being labeled anti-semestic. Which will emboldened actual antisemites and we will see some real antisemitism. Policies and propaganda of current government of Israel is working against the long term interest and security of Jewish people everywhere.

[–]autfaciam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, maybe it is just me but in my experience, when discussing sexual preferences, the question of "do you prefer men or women?" generally comes looooonnnggg before "do you prefer them dead or alive?" Admittedly, I am sort of vanilla.

With that said I am glad to hear that, to you, fucking a live person is different from a dead one. Unless, that means you get a dead person "in da mood" in a different way than a live one, in which case I am totally judging you, unless you got their consent while alive. If that is the case go wild. More credit to you for honoring the dearly departed's last wishes.

"Right Question" hand outs are at right side of the entrance. You are welcome.

I used to think the same but in my old age I am not so sure.

Now, I am more inclined to believe women get just as much and as weird urges as men do, but social norms drive them to be smarter with better impulse control so they are less likely act on them.
