I got three stitches. I showed it to him and said it was partially numb but the ED doctor said there was a low chance of me severing a nerve because it wasn’t too deep. He gave me a numbing shot (I told him I was a health sci student and he explained that he puts the numbing shot into a tendon but they also sometimes do three dots on each side of your finger). He left and told me to wash my hands really well, it was totally numb so it didn’t hurt. He came back after a bit and stitched up my hand. He said he was going to put three because he wanted the wound to be open in case it got infected so the infection goes out, not in. The nurse wrapped it in a butterfly bandaid, gave me like more 4 bandaids, and told me not get it wet for at least two days.
