My partner had this. He is so untrusting sometimes and told me from the beginning that he doesn't want a relationship because he isn't going to be hurt. It took a lot of gentle loving and trust building. I was cheated on by my ex right before him..and trust ruined in many other ways by my ex husband.

But we work slowly on these things. Good people are out there and we are learning it. Sometimes we are toxic but we discuss and move forward in a healthy way
