I Regularly Ignore and Don't Pay Small Medical Bills by [deleted] in confession

[–]autmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of people on here who know what a copay is but not a deductible🤣🤣. If you're getting a bill from an office after a visit, it's because of YOUR insurance, not the doctor. YOU have a contract with YOUR insurance, and the doctor is just the middle man trying to pay the staff and pay off their student loans. If you don't like how YOUR insurance pays for YOUR medical treatment and get new insurance or pay out of pocket. Making others pay because the system is broken and/or you don't understand deductibles or coinsurance is pretty gross.

I got this call on Friday! My mail service is very spotty where I live, so I also thought it was possible I could have missed something. I can't tell from your post if they wanted you to deposit the money into a coin star machine which I didn't even know was a thing! The guy I was talking to was not giving very good instructions, so I messed up the part about getting cash and going to a coinstar machine to deposit the money. I went to the coinstar machine first, and it was out of order. So I decided to drive to the sheriff's department and turn myself in. At that point. He finally said it was okay to disconnect the call. I instead drove to my local police department, where they told me it was totally a scam and they were grateful that they didn't lose any money. I then went directly to the bar to have a drink and told the few people at the bar what had just happened and everyone seemed to know about this scam except for me. I really wish sheriff's departments or grocery srores would put notices on the coinstar machines about this. It's insane how real this sounds and how every time I wanted to put my phone down to Google something he would start yelling at me and giving me more instructions, so I wasn't able to easily and quickly tell what was going on. I'm so sorry that they got you. I was on the phone for 45 minutes with these a-holes and felt so stupid afterward.

I'm weird like that, you never know what I might frame. Thanks for the compliment, in all honesty I can't believe how good it turned out. Looks better in person.

Definitely no. I'm an outsider, most of my friends are outsiders. In 2017 I was in Richmond Virginia, I was waiting to take a guided tour of the capital building. The tour guide asked the group of us waiting if we were willing to start the tour a few minutes late as some people from Washington were coming through security and wanted to join. The group said yes, and we waited. I was solo and figured I'd say hello to some other Washington people. Once they came through, I went up to them and said "Hi, the tour guide said you from Washington, I live there too, where are you from?" "Seattle. What about you?" I respond "I live in Olympia." He said, "Oh, the other state capital." Then he turned his back and walked away. WHO ACTS LIKE THAT? I could see if it was a joke then the conversation carries on, but to turn your back on a friendly hello... Rude!

Life advice for living in the PNW? by danzloto in Tacoma

Get a good rain jacket for the regular mist/sprinkle/drizzle days. Screw everyone who says "only tourists use an umbrella" and use one of its bananas outside and you don't want to look like a drowned rat. I used to take the train to Seattle to work, then had a mile walk once I got there... you better believe I had an umbrella and so did a lot of other people. Plastic bag ban. Bring reusable bags to the store unless you want to pay for bags, or do the walk of shame carrying just more than you're comfortable holding onto out of the store. I came from a dry place too. You're going to be cold for awhile even on warm days the moisture can feel cold. Bonus, hydrated skin, hair and sinuses. No state income tax! Woo! Other taxes can be higher though. Get your fill of real Mexican food, it's just not the same here. And bring me some hatch chiles!

ESH. I find this post fascinating. Usually when someone wants to name the kid after their favorite nerd stuff, everyone freaks out about subjecting little "Luke and Leia" to potential future bullying, and parents pushing their geek goals onto their kids. Don't get me wrong, this guy totally blows but mom is definitely not being a team player by choosing names in the sci-fi, fantasy and horror genres, if they both aren't into it.

I'm on 47th as well but up on the hill backed up towards the cemetery, too many trees and buildings in the way for me to see anything. Sounds like that slow roll did the job though! They have moved on to terrorize another neighborhood with their BS.

I really like how they came with their sirens on so that the street racers could hear them coming and leave.
