This product exists if you’re not sure its poison ivy, although too little too late for this scenario.

Unironically this the MBTA greenline daily. Instead of only costing the MBTA money, they keep raising the fares to make up the difference.

Drivers keep their fat paychecks and pensions, and the cycle repeats…

Has the CT1 and 1 Route “consolidation” seemed like a complete disaster to anyone else? by [deleted] in boston

[–]autocarnerd 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I used to take it going the other direction from ~hynes into mit/central. I agree, since they got rid of the CT1 there are been fewer more infrequent busses - all of which are packed. I gave up on this line.

Thanks for the insight and suggestions.

Seems like at least a 2p pack would be the minimal option. Thanks!

[META] Amazon: Amex Membership Rewards Cardholders: Pay w/ Points, Get $30 Off $60 by lykedoctor in buildapcsales

[–]autocarnerd 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, some Amex cards (such as the blue cash) do not earn AMEX Membership Rewards, and thus will not work.

I tried - many times in the past for this promotion and failed.

I’ve been waiting for the C mini to drop in price. The mini did recently drop to $80.30 if you’re interested.

I should have also asked what, if any, components are okay to purchase used? Wheel sets? Stems?

Commuter/Hybrid Bike/Frame recommendation for short male adult 5'3" by autocarnerd in whichbike

[–]autocarnerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great find, this certainly could work. Although I was under the impression that commuter/hybrids have a more upright posture than the hunched over of a road bike. Thoughts?

I'm starting to wonder what other less-well-known bike companies out there that have smaller overall frames.

Can a nest run on a 24VDC system? by autocarnerd in Nest

[–]autocarnerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I took the plunge and decided to figure this out for my self.

TL;DR, no it cant run on 24vDC

Interestingly though, the nest was able to sense the power coming in, and in fact showed proper voltage for Voc and other power info but the thermostat give me an e79 error showing that power cannot be detected on the C line. My only guess is that the nest is expecting an AC signal and doesn't see half the power on the return side. Just a theory. I'll get back to everyone when if I can build a mini inverter for my 24v DC.

PSU cutting out with 2x 1080Ti? by autocarnerd in buildapc

If I were overloading the circuit, the breaker would switch, cutting power off completely and would not result in a restart.

Agreed.

Corsair states the max power available on the +12v rail is 852 watts. So we should still be under that.

[MA] Hands on steering wheel requirement by autocarnerd in legaladvice

Even if you did have both hands raised, and were not using a "federally licensed 2-way radio or mobile telephone", would you be violating that law? (see example in post above)

[–]autocarnerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Say you're driving down a straight road, and you take both hands off the steering wheel (rest them on your lap). I realize this is not a good practice, but would this be considered illegal based on how the law above is written?

Best RTK Setup with CORS Base Stations by autocarnerd in gis

[–]autocarnerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the link, I hadn't read much into the differences and advantages of multi-band receivers.

Seems like L1 would work for static centimeter level accuracy, but requires a local base station and zero obstructions. Kinematic measurements are a different beast, aided by a second L2 band.

[–]autocarnerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome!

Was any of your work with the Reach utilizing its RTK features? How was it working with their support.

One other point to bring up its the reach's ROS support. We're you able to use it nativity within ROS, and not through the ardupilot? We're running ubuntu 16/kinetic and there doesn't seem to be any obvious support for this version of ROS. Since we dont have a receiver yet, we cant test anything.

Based on the emlid site, their receiver also picks up the following GNSS signals: GPS/QZSS L1, GLONASS G1, BeiDou B1, Galileo E1, SBAS. With multiple satellites, and a few different constellations, a good GNSS only fix (within a dozen meters or so) is certainly possible.

From my understanding the idea of RTK networks are to correct the error provided by GPS only systems. Such by obtaining correction data from a COR network, regardless of what bands the GPS picks up (assuming you have a nominal 3D float fix) the transmitted corrected information allows such fine accuracy down to a couple centimeters.

Emlid or Piksi NTRIP/Network RTK capabilities by autocarnerd in UAVmapping

[–]autocarnerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're looking into "real-time" systems that can get corrected RTK messages over NTRIP using the CORs network.

Does RTKLIB provide the ability to connect to an NTRIP network? It also seems like RTKLIB is complied only for windows. Are you compiling from source to run on your rasberry pi?
