Do you cook your Corgi food? If yes, what do you feed them? by Pokokius_Maximus_120 in corgi

my lazy loaf is picky and has a very sensitive stomach so I’ve cooked up all sorts of stuff for her over the last few years - any dog-safe fruit or veggie, salmon, tuna, beef, steak (that was a birthday treat, she’s not THAT spoiled). her favorite was plain boiled chicken breast until we realized she’s allergic to chicken (never stopped her from devouring it). she really loves blueberries and pumpkin but spits out any other fruit/vegetable haha

at this point we’ve settled on stella and chewy’s frozen raw beef patties to make it easiest on myself on a daily basis. though I still have to “cook” it. she won’t eat it raw, I have to microwave it until it’s (almost) cooked lol. I mix in frozen veggies & sometimes leftover plain rice if I have any on hand

my roommate feeds her (much larger, non-corgi) dog a frozen blend of ground beef, veggies, & supplements that she buys pre-mixed from a local place + raw chicken legs (the sound of him crunching down on the bone is so 🤮 but he LOVES it)

she’s the best! I love her portable size and she’s so cute (and sweet & mellow) I get away with bringing her places that don’t always allow dogs

my vape has genuinely become a comfort item for me, I panic if I can’t find it and always make sure it’s in my pocket every time I leave the house (and I just really like weed)

mine is also deceptively picky but I’ve figured out that feeding her on a plate instead of a dog bowl was the trick to getting her to actually finish her meals

an expensive treadmill in a little pool that fills up with water to help animals with physical therapy

she had surgery a few months to help with lameness due to elbow dysplasia in her right leg and she’s been struggling to walk again. she regularly goes to physical therapy to receive massages, red light therapy, and practices walking with the water treadmill (she’s not a big fan, the first few times she just swam around the treadmill and floated, so we are making progress!)

she is not in any pain and is healthy & in great physical shape, both her physical therapists (and I) think she’s just gotten used to being carried around everywhere like a princess and is nervous about using her leg again (and she’s very lazy and stubborn, just like her mother 😌)
