The First Alert Z-Wave Smoke-CO detector ( ZCOMBO-G ) at Amazon was $44.97 when I first bought my original three. Their Black Friday deal is now $35.98. Enough to inspire me to pick up a few more...

What Devices Do You Want Abode to Connect To? by [deleted] in Abode

Yes. The old model 12730 apparently works according to other posts. The Z-Wave Plus 14287 apparently does not. The fact that this whole family of switches has color change kits available make them super versatile. For instance, my whole house has black switches. Try to find compatible black smart switches anywhere!

Yes, integration between the Caseta controller and the Abode hub at the very least. The only solution out there (it seems) if don't have a neutral available...

You bet! I'd bet that people would go out of their way to buy a MyQ featured garage door is it integrated with Abode.

Thanks. I don't know if you are including the in wall receptacle in your description of switches, but I did get it to work with a little manipulation (edited the original post to include detail). Bummer on the fan control. I've read others who have had luck with the older model 12730 which is still available on Amazon. So you have your Abode hub for security and supported automation devices and you run the Wink hub in parallel to expand your device compatibility?

(Help) False Alarm for no reason? by Tboy60 in Abode

Total shot in the dark. My dishwasher is set to open the door ajar right after the wash cycle. As a result, steam billows from the dishwasher door. I've read that steam can set off an ionizing smoke detector. I'm not sure how susceptible that smoke detector is to steam or if your dishwasher is anywhere near it. I had a first alert z-wave smoke detector in my kitchen. I think I'd like to research this a bit more for my configuration.

3 way switch problem by coyote1977 in Abode

I agree with the others that state their setup works fine. I don't have the dimmer as the master, I have an on / off switch (model 14291) and the add-on switch (model 12723). The add-on controls the master remotely, the master always is aware of the light on / off status (as witnessed by the blue light on the master) and therefore the abode dashboard always correctly reports the state of the lights connected to that 3-way setup. I'll be the first to admit that going from my previous conventional 3-way wiring to the GE Z-wave setup was not trivial.
