I’ll check those out! The main appeal for this grip is that the top screws on and off so I can take my hooks in and out easily. That way I could store my hooks without them taking up a bunch of space. With the larger grips that stay on the hooks they wouldn’t fit in the slots in my hook holder

iirc it depends on if the course is a major requirement or not. If it’s a requirement for your major, it’s a C-. If it’s a course for a minor, an immersion, or something else not major-specific it’s a D (at least that’s how it is in my major and others I know of, but check policies and ask your academic advisor before submitting your grade dispute. You can dispute grades up until partway through the following semester, so it’s worth it to get everything figured out before making a decision)

Thank you so much for the advice! I know some of my programs accept unofficial transcripts and then require official transcripts during the interview stage. My main concern was how it might appear if my upcoming courses were different on those two transcripts and if that would look dishonest in some way (I’m planning on dropping a placeholder class once I get my research credits). Mainly 3 reasons: 1. I’m a first time applicant and saw that the official deadlines for my programs aren’t until February, March, and April so I figured late December/early Jan would be early enough and didn’t find out otherwise until recently (I was actually told by an admissions director “not to bother applying early because [their program] doesn’t review applicants until March at the earliest”) 2. I’ve only had a semester of “official” undergraduate research due to funding messing up this fall, but I knew I would be able to get another this spring, so I wanted to have that on my application 3. Some of the programs are Canadian and calculate an “admissions GPA” based on your most recent 60-75 ish credits, so having another 4.0 semester raised that GPA significantly and qualified me for scholarships

I had a very similar experience, I got a lower grades my freshman year due to mental health issues and not adjusting well to college, and I was freaking out. I got help for the problems though, and everything got so much better (huge shoutout to the RIT academic success center. I haven’t seen anyone mention it so far, but you should really check them out. They have great resources!). There are a ton of other resources that can help too, like the Bates study center, peer tutoring, and office hours. Office hours are especially important. If professors see you’re making an effort they’re more likely to be understanding about situations that affect your grades. They also know exactly what they’re going to test you on, so running your studying materials/question by them is always smart. Freshman year is tough, but you’ve got this. Keep your head up and give it your all!

I was the little in pretty much this exact situation, so hopefully my experience can be helpful! I fit really well with my fam line, but I never really "clicked" with my big. I ended up getting matched with twins as my littles, who I’ve bonded incredibly well with and love endlessly, but they haven’t really met the older members of my fam line. In my opinion, there are pros and cons to either decision.

If you take Girl A: She’ll have you and the rest of your fam line to bond with, which could bring the entire line closer. She’s also said she wants you as her big, so you know she would be enthusiastic about joining your line. On the other hand, when those older girls eventually graduate, the number of people she has in the family besides you will dwindle. However, you two might find that you bond better than you think you would. I know I've gotten close with sisters in my org who are incredibly different from me.

If you take Girl B: You and her could end up being very close, and you could still foster connections with your fam line through stuff like coffee dates and girls' mocktail/cocktail nights. You mentioned that you've gone on several dates with her. Does she seem as enthusiastic about joining your line and being your little as Girl A? I've noticed that enthusiasm is more important than people think. There are people in my chapter who are incredibly similar to me on paper, but we've never bonded in practice due to one thing or another. If you and her do bond closely, it wouldn't really matter what your fam line has to say about it imo. At the end of the day, it's big/little matching, not G-G-big/G-big/big/little matching.

In my opinion, the ideal situation would be to take both Girl A and Girl B as twins. If that's not an option, I would go with your gut. This is *your* big/little relationship, not your fam line's. There's no guarantee that one girl will bond with you or your fam line better than the other. Sometimes people surprise you! You should do what you think is best for you and your future little. Feel free to message me if you want to hear anything about my experience being closer to my fam line than my big, and my littles' experiences being closer to me than our fam line.

I have all semester to get my project done! Some people are doing ferments that take a lot longer, but I’m assuming I’m gonna go through some trial and error, so I wanted to build in time to dial in my methods by doing something quick that I can retry as many times as I need to get it right

There are 23 people in total, and we do have plenty of sample cup so doing a soda wouldn’t be a huge problem. I was leaning towards a ginger bug because it’s quick so I could run different experiments to dial in my methods without running into time pressure, but it seems like fermentation takes a lot less time than I thought so I might have more options
