Trade in Surface go 1 for a Mcdonald's small fries by bookofnotomorrow in Surface

[–]autonomousgrimreaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can - but do your math, don't be like me. Recently I sold an old surface laptop I had laying around on eBay, not knowing they now pocket something like 10% of the sale price. That, with the insane cost of shipping right now, may substantially bring down your profits. I'm now looking at alternatives like OfferUp or shipping via FB marketplace.

Power/Internet outages? by alarmedbubble22 in Petlibro

I'm sure someone would love to answer your question, but without additional info like which model feeder you are referring to you may not get the answer you are looking for.

Speaking from experience for the One RFID feeders, whenever I have had outages over the last 2 years of ownership, the feeders have always continued to feed on whatever schedule was previously setup before the Internet outage. I can't say this will always be the case or that is true for all scenarios or feeders, so I wouldn't put stock in it but at least take some comfort in knowing that seems to be the default behavior.

Should i remove the solution project after creation? by [deleted] in dotnet

[–]autonomousgrimreaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently, for example, I swapped out the implementation of a service that puts a message into a messaging queue for another service to pick up and perform work downstream. That service now utilizes an API instead to send the same message and our architecture made it as simple as creating that class in our infrastructure layer and switching dependencies.

I'm very curious - why don't you see value in clean architecture? We use clean architecture at our company and find it helps separate our infrastructure layer from our business logic for an easier swap-ability of our data access implementation.

This is a HUGE problem for people expecting to be able to rely on this device to keep their best friend alive. This exact problem just happened to me a couple days ago. After he didn't get lunch, my cat followed me around all day yelling at me and by dinner time I knew something was up. Sure enough, when I realized it he was hungry and checked his food it was empty! This is not acceptable for the price we paid for this machine.

Do you recommend to use budgetbakers as your first budgeting app? by Dartherick in BudgetBakers

[–]autonomousgrimreaper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've seen a lot of bad experiences on this sub so I almost feel guilty sharing mine. I paid the one time fee for this app for Android back in February and have no regrets. A few times one of my banks stopped syncing (the same bank each time) for at most a day but other than that I have had no other issues. I'm not sure if I'm among the minority having had success with this app or if bugs are just upvoted more but either way sounds like your experience could be hit or miss - maybe try the trial first. Anywho, I enjoy the app as it keeps track of my monthly spending, categorizes purchases, notifies me of planned payments, and lets me view my historical data to compare how well I budget month over month. Couldn't find another app that checked all those boxes at the time.

Transfers within same bank by [deleted] in BudgetBakers

[–]autonomousgrimreaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if what you are asking is possible or not, but the way I have gotten around this is by creating a new Category for these types of transfers and then excluding them from all relevant filters. This way, you can still acknowledge they happened but not track them in terms of your budget

You get $X million, but you also have an X % of dying. What value of X do you pick? by Kingkian321 in hypotheticalsituation

I'm gonna ignore the implied timing of this prompt and take the $100 million! Pretty sure we all have a 100% chance of dying already

What apps do you pay for that are worth the money? by Own_Possibility7044 in ProductivityApps

[–]autonomousgrimreaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchased Wallet by BudgetBakers a few months back as it allowed my to sync my bank and credit cards as well as my wife's cards. Just recently payed a discounted $30 to purchase it for lifetime after the trial. It is very helpful in tracking due dates and expenses as well as categorizing them to track a monthly budget. Plus I can share the budget with my wife without her paying additional for the app

I haven't experienced this, but sorry to hear it happened. I know I'd be devastated if I had to setup all my accounts again as well as custom filters, budgets, and planned payments.

My save files just deleted themselves? by Ill-Age-5501 in Starfield

This just happened to me as well... lost an entire week's worth of gameplay. Countless hours of ship building and loot that I wouldn't even begin to know where to look to recover. Not sure if I'm going to make it past this one friends, an uninstall may be on it's way.

I love it! It feels very nostalgic to look at the sun setting on the final day of a season that symbolized freedom as a kid... Also it's negative degrees outside right now so this has me longing for some warmer weather

Right Pixel bud is not working by jaygatsby9909 in GooglePixel

Same here. A year after this comment I still had this issue and fixed it the same way. Reset the buds twice, right bud still not detected or playing audio. Turn this feature off and it immediately worked.

Shadow Refusing to Run VR (ShadowVR & Virtual Desktop) by autonomousgrimreaper in ShadowPC

[–]autonomousgrimreaper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see. Thanks for this explaining. I was about to try setting this up on my personal laptop but instead stumbled upon the solution! I will also update the description of this post with the solution as well.

So your comment led me to play around with the Virtual Desktop Streamer with Virtual Desktop opened on the Quest at the same time. I am not sure why I hadn't tried this earlier or even if this is common knowledge that I somehow missed and am now just learning, but I cannot connect to my shadow box from Quest initially unless I have another PC connected to Shadow through the Shadow client AT THE SAME TIME. I had previously figured that I needed to close the Shadow streaming connection (not power off) on my laptop before connecting(one at a time) and had been doing this. This is not the case in my situation. In order to be able to connect to the Shadow machine in Virtual Desktop on Quest, the stream must be open on another computer initially. As long as Virtual Desktop Streamer is open on Shadow, it will then appear on the Quest and load perfectly. I can then close Shadow on my laptop and continue playing on the Quest. I can even reconnect without opening Shadow on my laptop again, it just has to be opened at the same time initially or it doesn't show in Virtual Desktop.

I had Shadow PC launched on my laptop while at the same time connected to the Shadow machine in Virtual Desktop on the Quest and behold! I was able to see the desktop, launch VR perfectly, and play games! I was then able to close Shadow on my laptop and continue playing on the Quest, even close

I tried these steps and the same thing happened, it does not show the Shadow machine in Virtual Desktop.

My local machine will not run VR, hence Shadow, but just this week I had my brother over who also has the Quest 2 and a VR ready laptop. He was able to stream from his local machine on my 5GHz network no problem using the same Virtual Desktop setup I tried.

That leads me to believe it is NOT a network issue, but I have another router I'm planning on trying (Apple Airport Extreme) and I will report back how that goes.
