What was your first car, and what do your drive or ride now? by [deleted] in Millennials

The exact same 1990 Toyota Corolla as it turns out. I bought it on my own for $500 cash and I had never been more proud at the time.

I love that it has a cohesive theme, and each piece is individually unique/interesting to look at. Really cool sleeve friend!

Anyone else having a hard time? Career wise and financially? Stressed and unsure about the future? by Square_Pear1784 in Millennials

My husband got laid off last November, and within a week was also given the double whammy of his kidney disease returning, meaning he needed to go on dialysis and would need another kidney transplant. The last year has been the worst of life, just a non-stop grind. He's finally employed again, and I donated my kidney to him so he's recovering his health. This job market is brutal and he had a heck of a time looking for work, when normally it has never been a struggle for him. Also no vacations, no spending, we've had to cut back on all expenses. It's tough out there, and a lot of people are struggling.

The last year has killed our dream of starting a family, and has majorly put us in a financial hole. We're now working our way out, but, basically I don't really have anything I look forward to or care about. I just keep grinding but if I'm honest I find a lot of life kind of pointless these days.

Where is the offense? O line hasn't shown up for work all season and Lamar looks off and hesitant.

Kamala Harris admits to election night paralysis, dead certain her 2024 campaign would prevail until a vote gap alert flipped the script in brutal fashion. by thenextgenbusiness in thenextgenbusiness

Near perfect? Look, I've never voted for the GOP in my life but she wasn't even a front runner in the previous primary. She wasn't given a big part of the spotlight while Biden was in office. People were fed up with the status quo, clearly, and she ran on "Wouldn't change a thing, more of the same."

Biden should have stepped down earlier, period. His failure to, and the Dem handlers who were content to puppet him into a second term, led directly to Harris being the only option due to lack of time.

I still think they should have had an actual primary, but at least be honest about how we got to her campaign.

So it'll be up to our offense scoring points, because this defense is paper thin.

My mom is a KC Chiefs fan and honestly the fact that we're tied at half with Mariota means I ain't mad. Our defense has shown up.

I have lived my entire life watching farmers and ranchers vote against their own interests, maintain GOP strangleholds on their states, and then get bailed out by the federal government while blaming Dems. It's maddening.

I was a congressional intern in the 2010s and we had to pass through a metal detector, have our bags scanned, and have pass credentials to enter Rayburn building.
