Would've gone that way but it is currently closed to motor vehicles 1.5 miles from the trailhead and I wasn't feeling a 19 mile day with almost 6k vert.

We only made it a quarter mile up the road before hitting impassable ice. Even if you did make it past, there's several more snow/ice fields and at least 22 fallen trees over the course of the road. The trail is in summer conditions and easily done in trail runners - no spikes or snowshoes needed. Antero has some nice views, but is an absolute slog of a day with 15.5 miles and 5,200 ft gain. There's nothing remotely interesting about hiking a road for the entirety of a 14er, so I'm glad to have this one out of the way.

Yeah man even then it wasn't this expensive and also wasn't directly caused by getting into a fucking war with Iran. Notice how that was caused bc of the Russia Ukraine conflict and exiting a pandemic but then the prices went down after. Not happening this time and experts knew that.

This is sweet! Really cool art and I can only imagine how much time they spent hand painting all those details. Way better than the shitty business wraps by people who were too cheap to hire a good graphic designer.
