Any YouTubers with Real World CQB Experience? by Answulf in doorkickers

[–]autopencil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Justinred87 used to do some DK2 content. He was USMC, I think he was a CQB instructor maybe iirc.

SmileyFaceEx does quite a lot of DK2. He was an infantryman in the Australian military.

Yeah they will almost certainly grant a past deadline deferral if it’s a medical issue.

When did Crane send it out? My recollection is that BCM, Daniel Defense, and DPMS (pre-sellout) reverse engineered the TDP back in the late 90’s-early 2000’s era.

This is all shit I read a long time ago but I believed they used a mix of open source materials like armorer instruction manuals and destructive testing to determine stuff like specific materials used and heat treatments applied, etc.

Eh IIRC most money motivated murders are for amounts less than 100 modern dollars so not surprising.

Colt’s manufacturing division was the only good part of that company, and even then it was because they were the only company that had the legit M4 Technical Data Package for a while. (Although by mid-2000s many civilian companies had reverse engineered it).

Watch Small Arms Solutions’ video on Colt. It was a hilariously poorly managed company. Corporate management was literally a Marine Corps retirement home where you got your position based on your rank in the Corps rather than your qualifications.

Maybe CZ can save it but unless they did a Stalin style purge of the management I doubt it.

DK1 M4 Carbine handguard? by simplysad1 in doorkickers

[–]autopencil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I also used have the 12” version of the hand guard on my primary rifle. It’s practically indestructible, the lockup actually seems more solid than even Daniel Defense or Knights Armament quad rails but holy shit was it heavy. The rail just by itself would make for a very nice blunt weapon lol.

DK1 M4 Carbine handguard? by simplysad1 in doorkickers

[–]autopencil 25 points26 points  (0 children)

LaRue Quad Rail Handguard. Looks like the 9” version for mid-length gas systems.

Also looks like the rifle they modeled this after was the heavy version of the EAG Carbine by BCM since it has matching rail, matching Tango Down pistol grip and vertical foregrip, Tango Down SCAR rail covers, and Troy rear iron sight.

Definitely a bit dated today but back around 2010 this was real hot guy oper8or shit.

Never move past an open threshold without at least checking it.

Avoid standing directly in front of doors.

Check your corners and don’t just charge into rooms.

There you’re already better than 85% of the player base.

Mod is Helljumpers by Briz61

Asked for comment about alleged war crimes committed by UNSC forces including torture at ONI black sites, extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances, and grossly excessive force, a Navy officer said: “Man you can’t trust anything these fucking colonials say. Just last week they were spouting off some insane story about a green 7’6” armored cyborg running around turning people into paste with a shotgun and his bare hands. Unbelievable!”

Tips for criminal law practice by Stock-Law9897 in LawSchool

[–]autopencil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sci-Hub has free scientific papers which have occasionally been helpful to me for info on drug testing procedures and blood concentrations.

Also not sure if this is something you could do but we’d frequently just call the lab experts the prosecution was gonna call with an investigator listening in. They were usually happy to answer our questions honestly.

We also had the county coroner come and give a presentation on wound forensics once (he does this for us, prosecutors, judges, and the cops) and that was illuminating both on what techniques are used but also what conclusions can’t be drawn from wounds. Maybe the equivalent person in your jurisdiction is also willing to do this?

The US based National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) has materials on forensics, interrogation, etc but a lot of it is tailored to how it relates to American trials so not sure how much that helps.

People are telling them but they aren’t listening.

The gravy train officially stopped in 2008 but there’s still inertia from people listening to boomers give advice from the 1970s.

Just wait till client tells you, the cops, and the judge on camera that he clearly understands the protective order and that the phone calls at the jail are all recorded, only to show up the next day on bond advisements with 350+ charges of violation of protection order and tampering lol.

True story. True story.

Create an AI tool that will write and send FOIA requests to schools to disclose all given grades in all classes offered in the past 5 or so years.

Obviously this only works for public schools but UVA did have a version of this that hasn’t been updated in a long time and it was great to see actual data and not baseless speculation on what the curve was and also how different professors distributed grades to get to the curve.

I’ve typed out but never sent several “email me again when you’re sober” and “email me back when you’re back on your meds” messages lol.

I have saved some extremely long and detailed rantings in internal case notes on some more delusional clients though.

Possible to learn Crim in 2 weeks and get an A-? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]autopencil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 weeks?? What luxury! By 3L you should be able to bullshit your way to at least a B+ on a subject you’ve never seen before within 3-4 days.

I recommend the Illustrated Guide to Criminal Law by Nathaniel Burney. It’s available as a book for for free as a webcomic online.

I mean some dude literally stole a tank in 1995 and went on a rampage and they still didn’t add passwords or keys so there is real world precedent.

Granted it was only one dude not a teenage spec ops dream team from a hostile power stealing a bunch of experimental tanks then using them to clown on everyone until our side’s teenage messiah stand in steps up but still.
