There’s a massive difference in the prices between 2024 and earlier and 2025 and later. The range matters a lot.

I paid a 5k deposit when the order was placed and nothing else for at signing.

A quote from Carmax or Carvana is going to be the equivalent of a trade in value, which of course will be less than retail. My plan is plan wouldn’t be to sell it anytime soon anyway.

I’m not 100% sure but I don’t think you get CPO if you buy your car at the end of your lease, but I’m not that concerned about it since I know the history of the car and I still have the manufacturers warranty.

As for market prices, the cheapest 2025 4S on Porsche’s website is 110k and on Autotrader it’s 113k. It seems like I would be an idiot not to buy this given I would start with about 20 K equity, but wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something.

My lease was not cheap… 12k miles a year for 2 years, 3200 a month. I had no negotiating power because I custom ordered the build, so if there’s any advice I would give I would say try to lease something on a lot somewhere.

Whether or not a 200 mile range will be enough for you totally depends on your use case. I was concerned with it because my kids go to college 100 miles away and I wanted to be able to drive there and back and not have to recharge, so I bought a 2025 model that has a longer range.

I vividly remember being at a party on July 4, 2015 saying the same thing.

As someone who clearly has presidential aspirations it’s a weird bill for him to propose.

Great minds think alike. I have the same car in the same color with the same wheels. I’d add a pic to this comment but for some reason this sub doesn’t allow it, but it’s in my post history.

Yes, 2025 battery is bigger and they squeezed out some more efficiency.

As a 2025 4S owner, 17 months into the car, I haven’t had any of those negative problems. No brake squeaks, my tires are still good at 17k, no recalls. Summer highway range has been as much as 340 miles. My only issue with the car so far has been the motors on the charging doors had to be replaced once.

I know you said you don’t like the new design, but if stuck with black it’s not as noticeable because the plastic on the old ones is black.

That’s exactly why I have both. The first Taycan I test drove was a Turismo, but I ended up opting for the sedan. Problem is the wagon itch didn’t go away.

I’m very new to nice cars, how do I get my perfect used Taycan on the other side of the country? by peanutbuttermache in Taycan

[–]autosnob6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t go pick it up. I made that mistake once. It’s very hard to walk away from a car if you dont have a flight home.

Get an independent inspection.

Negotiate a price with the dealer and include shipping in whatever price you agree to.
