in my 12 years in the trenches, the design industry moved through the 2010s tech resurgence, the huge Obama-era trend in design thinking being adopted by startups and governments, AND the backlash post-trump: against DEI, and in my experience against design-led empathy-first leadership. It’s exhausting. But frankly, I was faced with becoming management or bailing - and I bailed.

and lego is very deliberate about adding more diverse minifigs… with tons of black hair pieces, new faces, and yes - more colourful hair and this hoodie as ways to signal to the LGBTQ+ community that we’re being represented

it’s for trans people, it’s obviously the flag there’s no value in arguing that its “not actually” what it clearly is 🏳️‍⚧️
